When scientists write this, they mean "expertise in scientific research", but they are saying "expertise at playing the glamour game in full knowledge that it's bullshit but you all buy it".
Don't write this stuff on your narrative CV. I will think less of you.

and use AI.Respectfully, I signed up for academia, because I care about facts and developing my own thinking. But I guess I’m just in the wrong place, then. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

@Ruth_Mottram this is a wonderful plan and great *if* you are on the high end of a systemic power gradient.
If you're not, your ideas might get stolen as much by immediate colleagues as anyone else. People who want to do what you're doing and have better / faster / easier access to funding. And/or people who want your idea to go away because it distracts from their fiefdom building. Again, these might be people you work with and trust.
This has happened to me multiple times.
