The Doug Ford government has so underfunded Ontario hospitals that St. Catharines is currently asking for linen donations for their NICU.
Ford spent $25,000 of taxpayers' money for a stupid, useless sign not 15 minutes away, but no blankets for babies.

Suggestions for fighting back against the #Ontario government in its culture war on cyclists and bike lanes.

“For kids like my son, the current state of the public school system is setting them up to fail in life."
I could write these words. It's why, when we understood that staying in TDSB would leave our son functionally illiterate, we moved him to a private school for kids with LDs.

Very good idea!! It would help us unshackle the chains binding us to the US.When I trace Canadian companies back to their owners, or board of directors and CEOs, I am too often surprised at the number of Americans who are cashing in and influencing our businesses.
And when they have contracts with any level of our governmentthat affects our representatives political opinions and decisions.
Looking at you Doug Ford!! -

Trump threatening us with a good time. No trade with Canada and Mexico unless his own Fed reduces interest rates - while all the signals suggest they should raise them.
Bring it Orange Dumbass - we're just fine with that

If you're going to b*tch about the noise from the #airshow but still vote for #DougFord & his Conservative lackey MPPs, then you're a hypocrite. If a once a year show bothers you, but constant jet traffic at #BillyBishop won't, you can STFU with your complaints.

Happy to have played a small role in last night's victory of my friend #ONDP candidate Fatima Shaban in the by-election in the #Ontario provincial constituency of #Scarborough Southwest
Winning is sweet! :)

Doug Ford is about to start removing the safe bicycling infrastructure on Bloor Street and University, falsely claiming that this will somehow reduce traffic congestion. This is in spite of hearing deputations from city planning and traffic experts all pointing out that what will really happen is this:
1. Congestion will get worse, as all the traffic that used to move efficiently by bike will now have to take cars or public transit, or continue on bikes, but riding in a car lane or on the sidewalk where it is much more dangerous. I’ve stood on the Viaduct during rush hour and counted more throughput in the bike lane than in both car lanes combined.
2. More people — pedestrians, bikers, and drivers — will get hurt, maimed, or killed. It’s clear Ford is aware of this, because he added a provision to the bill to make it impossible to sue the province when this does, inevitably, occur.
2. It may seem that adding an extra lane should make traffic faster, but the true bottleneck is the throughput of intersections. And along Bloor, the intersection throughput is already lower than the existing lane carrying capacity.
So to recap, removing the bike lanes will:
1. Cost millions of taxpayer dollars
2. Make traffic congestion worse
3. Lead to more injuries and deathsThen why is Ford doing it? To pander to low-information voters in the burbs who will not feel the impact of these changes. He is literally willing to sacrifice lives to get some votes.
This is not surprising, as his closure of four safe injection sites across the city has already led to a “staggering” increase in overdoses and deaths, according to reporting in the Star.
And then he has the gall to advertise about “making a safer Ontario”.

Great investigative piece by Star abt Ford's rejection of city's compromise plan to restore car lanes but keep bikelanes. Ford rejection of win-win plan won't sit well with many Ontarians who prefer a respectful Made-in-Canada approach over Trump-style vindictiveness. #onpoli @[email protected]

I wish politicians would call Doug Ford's action what it is: social murder.
"113 cyclists have died or been injured since 2023 on Toronto's streets. Premier Ford has a responsibility to protect cyclists and by removing protected bike lanes, it's making roads less safe."
