My teen got his drivers learning permit yesterday. This is new:
"As of May 11, 2026, when you apply for your class G or class M licence, you will need to declare that:
- Ontario is your primary place of residence
- your presence in Canada is legal"It was passed in October as part of the "Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act"
Seems like a way to speed up deportation. Which is more Carney's thing. But no other province has added it.

The City of Ottawa posted the raw speed data from before and after Doug Ford banned speed cameras and the effect is so obvious it's not even necessary put a line marking when that happened.
This chart shows the percentage of drivers going 15km/h or more over the posted limit.

As much as I like Nate, he wasn't doing himself any favours by openly admitting he wants to use the SSW seat to gun for the #OLP leadership and by asking nomination rivals to step aside. However, Marit & the #ONDP need to ask serious questions given they are behind the leaderless Liberals. #ONpoli

Doug Ford’s buddies and the federally-controlled port authority have an airport expansion idea where the noise and pollution are so bad, keeping your windows open might be a problem. Not exaggerating.

The Port Authority sent a letter to the Planning & Housing Committee requesting future waterfront residents agree to “warning clauses” about airport noise, and suggests buildings be designed so windows can stay closed.

I find it surprising that at least in #Ontario, there seems to be a growing popularity or at least acceptance of compulsory school attendance. We have some of the most extreme attendance laws in Canada, literally throwing kids in jail.
I have done a chart and believe compulsory school attendance infringes prima facia on many charter rights. To the best of my knowledge, despite commentary in 2006, there has never been a constitutional challenge of such legislation in Ontario.

On the third attempt I was finally able to leave a voicemail message, after previous attempts that said the mailbox was full.
