```
@misc{wp,
title = {Wikipedia},
url = {https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foo},
urldate = {2025-01-01T13:37:42},
author = {Franz, Ferdinand},
year = {2026},
note = {Notiz}
}
```Ich habe als urldate auch die Zeit mit angegeben. Es wird mir aber im Literaturverzeichnis nur "Abgerufen am 1.1.2025" ausgegeben.

Another milestone reached!
We crossed the 4500 stargazers on #githubAnd we are close to another milestone, the 6.0-beta. We worked hard and worked on improvements and bug fixes across JabRef. For example, we revamped the entry editor to make it easier to add/remove fields.
Curious? Try out the latest dev version and see for yourself!

Bibliography interoperability is mostly a mirage.
There is no shared canonical model for bibliographic data: BibTeX, CSL-JSON, CFF, RIS, and others encode overlapping but incompatible views of the same reality.
Every converter is just a heuristic translator. We’ve optimized tools, not the model itself. Every ecosystem re-implements the same edge cases, calls it innovation, and ships the same mistakes again. -

Just ported 5 of the #biblatex compound numeric styles. I've not tested them myself, and I'm pretty far from a #chemist.
Would be cool if people who actually use these sorts of styles could test and report.
https://github.com/citum/citum-core/commit/93c4d5e684948c610f847a68b38e2c9faae8094c

Another new feature I've just added to #citum is compound citations that I guess are common in chemistry.
https://docs.citum.org/examples.html#compound-numeric-sets
This is feature requested for CSL awhile back that we had no idea how to implement, and in retrospect would have been impossible given the dependence on processor behavior.
https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/issues/437
Looking for a clean solution, this is another case where I drew inspiration from #biblatex.

Beginning to lose my mind again about #TeXLaTeX #BibLaTeX #BibTeX #Zotero fuckery. 😩
Zotero puts the "Extra" field from the GUI into the `annotation` field. This is happily ignored by biblatex. The quest begins, how to convince biblatex to *please* display my note on this preprint somewhere. All my attempts involving AtEveryBibItem or DeclareSourceMap pretty much in vain. LaTeX is so incredibly brilliant, but simple stuff like this can really kill you. Feels like :nixos: #NixOS 😅
-
For some reason it is ridiculously hard to just ignore any first or given names with #BibLaTeX. Like any sane person, I'd like to only see surnames in the citations, authoryear style. BibLaTeX really doesn't want you to.
-
Did you know the #SILE #digitalTypesetting system supports a fairly decent subset of #BibTeX / #BibLaTeX and Citation Style Language for bibliographies? True, it's a work in progress, but with some fixes just proposed upstream, it gets better at the task.

A question to the academic #HiveMind:
We are currently developing an extension to #ConfTool that will allow for the export of conference programmes as #BibTeX / #BibLaTeX . What would be your entry type of choice for otherwise unpublished conference presentations, posters etc.?
If you opt for “something else“, please provide your preference in a reply. Any comments are more than welcome.

@ThierryStoehr @zotero @swheritage Thanks! #jabRef supports biblatex software and both importing and exporting cff format as well.
#biblatex -
Huh, I must've missed the announcement.
@swheritage is now providing citation metadata to download as #BibTeX and use via #BibLaTeX (biblatex-software) for archived software with a CITATION.cff file or codemeta.json in the root directory! 🎉
Very cool!

I tried bibiman today. It really is a wonderful TUI for searching your bib-files!

[4 years and a half] This November 26th, 2024 means 4,5 year old release by @swheritage of "biblatex-software package, that adds support for properly managing software entries in bibliographies for #BibLaTeX users".
Happy 54 month anniversary for making good software and code source quotations
#bibliography
Article, "Citing software with style", 2020-05-26, https://www.softwareheritage.org/2020/05/26/citing-software-with-style/
(and source code, like BibLaTeX references, is text #format) -
#bibliographie

Hace años, abandoné Microsoft Word y me pasé a LibreOffice Writer. #word #writer #microsoft #libreoffice #odt #docx #odb #biblatex

Mais c'est super simple ?? o_O(article scheme:r5rs (title "The Revised5 Report on the Algorithmic Language Scheme") (author "Richard Kelsey, William D. Clinger, Jonathan Rees") (journal "Higher-Order and Symbolic Computation") (volume "11") (number "1") (month "Sep") (year "1998") (url "http://kaolin.unice.fr/Bigloo/doc/r5rs.html"))

"Le Dragon de Brume" is glad to announce the Summer 2024 edition of its PDF booklet "A bibliography of Tolkien studies in French & English".
https://sites.google.com/site/dragonbrumeux/bibliography
As for our previous volumes, all source files are available in #djot and (a subset of) #biblatex – using the (currently in-development) bibliography and citation modules for the #sile typesetting system.

CW: mentions the pandemic
@borisveytsman extended @docum3nt's bookshelf class for multilingual support and is now presenting the results and feature ideas. #TUG2024
It's a pandemic project which allows you to create a colorful virtual bookshelf out of a #BibTeX database to be used with #biblatex The intention was to be able to use it as background for video calls, but you can also just use it to finally have a shelf for your ebooks. #TeXLaTeX
