I managed to pay £3.85 for a single can of coke in a Toby Carvery in Middlesbrough 😳 (this is probably because they want the punter to pay an extra 50p or so for their unlimited soft-drink refills; for example a normal pot of tea is still £1.85... Still, menu first *then* order drinks 🤦 )

Would love to see a spreadsheet of lifetime income/outgoings of one of those fancy coffee (starbucks/costa) vending machines. I reckon if there's a way to deliver a takeaway coffee cheaper, in a period of economic contraction, it's some kind of automat.

The bill was written so that people had the option to earn the equivalent of the Federal Minimum Wage ($7.25/hr) x 80 hours a month, or $580 a month. IOW, you don't need to volunteer or work 80 hrs a month.

A very bad graph, almost meaningless. Starting a paragraph with ‘By any metrics’ must be backed up, here it certainly is not. If there is any causality between GDP and Budget Balances, it is minimal at best and other factors affect GDP more directly (mineral ores exports for one). Also, the post 2025 projections are baseless. Not far off being classed as ‘misinformation’. It might have helped if the source of this graph was stated and a link to the original piece provided.

Postings about our economy is a great thing to do. We need to be informed in order to make the right decision in #Elections2025 . But we must all make sure to post meaningful and accurate information (as best we can). We owe ourselves that much.

Keep posting Stanley, really do, just be careful about what you disseminate. I apologise if I offend because it is not (nor will it ever be on this platform) my intent.

One of my upper-div #microeconomics classes used the development of the #Dreamliner as a case study in globalization and outsourcing. I no longer have the text, much of the content seemed almost promotional. Some googling made it clear that the authors had plagiarized directly from Boeing's website.

Yes, the aspirational facets of this seep deeply into future management ranks. I've yet to see the "find out" phases documented in the same detail in management texts.

When planning the production, in our last video, we ignored the demand for the products. In this video, we will evaluate two strategies to include the demand into the model.
The first strategy is to have a sale of excess products. In this case, we have a piecewise revenue function, and we use some modeling tricks to model it into a mixed-integer linear program.
The second strategy is to consider the price at which we sell things to be a decision variable as well and to model the demand as a function that depends on the price linearly. This case leads to a very interesting conclusion about the nature of demand satisfaction.
