Es gelang #Gehlen, auch wenn er selbst dies nachdrücklich abstritt, eine große Anzahl der noch lebenden Mitglieder seiner früheren Dienststelle für den Dienst zu interessieren, weil sie in ihrer neuen Stellung häufig mit einer neuen Identität versehen wurden.
Eingestellt wurden zu einem großen Teil Ehemalige der #SS, des #SD, der #Gestapo, der #Abwehr und vor allem Offiziere der #Wehrmacht.
Anfang der 1950er durchgeführte Untersuchungen der Central Intelligence Agency ergaben, dass 13 bis 28 Prozent der Mitarbeiter der Organisation Gehlen ehemalige NSDAP-Mitglieder waren, und davon 5 bis 8 Prozent auch Mitglieder bei SS, SD oder SA waren.« (Hervorhebung von mir)
