Got the #Miata out Saturday; today is sunny if not still cool (4C -> 14C) at YYT ~~ good enough to be able to go for a little boot.
I was hoping to do the ECU this year but this might be another summer of just the basics.. thanks, #inflation. And the cost of dentistry. Kids. Etc.

This will be the raw materials for my next #woodworking project, a bench made out of a huge oak log. -

Temps down around 15 though sunny until Monday, then cold and wet, clearing a bit Saturday. Just enough to get a few more days in, then off to storage prob next Saturday for the #Miata.
The tires start to slip around 12C, and it really doesn't like cold starts. Perhaps the air flow meter doesn't return correct temps. Perhaps the ECU needs to be recapped. Either way, times up.
I am thinking next spring when it rolls out of storage, might be ECU year.

Tonight's race was in #iRacing. In a field of 19, I qualified P11.
I was concentrating on racing a clean race and avoiding first lap antics -- which there were a lot of in this race.
I ended up finishing the race P9! Not bad for a casual simracer.

Some days I do miss being able to drive into the Canadian interior for the weekend, enjoying the wind in my hair, with nary a car in sight. That was a different life.
Photo from when I was driving south along highway 95 in BC, after leaving Banf. That was quite the experience, very few cars along that road.

Ah, the mere existence of heavy rain locally today indicates that I have another Leaky Scuttle Grommet.

Out of the box ride heights for the 949 Racing XIDA coil overs + 863 bushings. Definitely some work to do but a decent starting point.
Will start with reversing the rake, set front camber and then mount the new 'meats' to see if they'll clear. An NA with 245s... we'll see what I can get away with.

Finally installed the bushings into the Miata's control arms. Satisfying pushing them out and pressing them in.
Slow but steady. Might have it done in time to go back into winter storage at this pace!

Brakes on one corner running a bit hot. Considering new calipers, pulled the parking brake cables.. but all three seem just fine.
Unfortunately, one side has quite a bit of play in the parking brake shaft and the other has been leaking brake fluid into the adjuster area.
Guess next spring, will probably try my hand and rebuilding these myself. Until then, adjusted and put back together.
Good chance to deep clean the wheels while they were off.

**just** warm enough to go rescue the #miata from winter storage. Couple warm, sunny days in the forecast so might this week work through the rest of the stabilized gas perhaps.
Given the quarter windows are not rain-proof, to stave off dash fade, and as wood burning is still in vogue here, this year going to try it under a cover...

I need to make room in the garage for #Jeep #Cherokee #XJ and #Mazda #Miata #MX5 #NA projects this winter.
Kind of conflicted. A little early perhaps but I haven't been driving the car much so might as well reduce the insurance load for a bit.

One of the last washes for the #MR2 this season. I've barely driven it this year.
The goto has been the #Miata all summer; between the #MX5 being the #autocross whip and it being "ready to party" at all times the other car has been neglected.
Both cars put a smile on my face so there's really no reason for it. I'll be preferentially pounding on the MR2 with backhill tobogganing the rest of the season me thinks. The colourful descents into deep autumnal valleys with the MX5 are awesome though.

My casual researching for a tow rig has taken me down the very deep #vanlife rabbit hole - at least the technical side of it.
Didn't realize #Ford stopped selling a full bodied #Econoline in 2015.
Picturing the #Miata and/or #MR2 on a trailer and being able to pull an awning to set up "camp" on race day. Easier, less buzzy driving and overnight accommodations for away events. Despise four laning the #MX5 and the #AW11.
My co-driving wife seems to like the idea so there's that. We'll see.
