The only upside is that nothing will make #MAGA turn on #DearLeader #MangoMussolini faster then high fuel prices

He also finds other countries' leaders hard to follow, especially when they're as educated, literate, and erudite as Carney. Trump basically doesn't read - he's aliterate, not illiterate - but when he does, it's at a primary-school level.
When he started his first term, it came out that to even get him to look at the printed daily security briefing, they had to cut the text *way* down, use smaller words and sentences, and put in a lot of pictures and colourful graphs. And even so, he'd rather someone just told him.

I'm sorry, Charles III, you're not cutting it.
The British Royal Family's long tradition of not commenting on political matters is, in general, a good idea. You don't want the elected government of the UK and the titular head of state to be seen to be out of alignment in any way, or having the hereditary figurehead appear to be setting direction for the elected government.
However...
This policy should go right out the window when it comes to something like Mango Mussolini announcing he'd like to annex a member country of the Commonwealth. He absolutely should have commented on Trump's threats to annex Canada, in a decisive, clear, and concise way that left no room for doubt.
If the British crown will not even put up a verbal defence of Canadian sovereignty, then it is time to tear down our relationship with the king. Off the money, out of the titles of officials, get rid of the Governor General, drop "Royal" from everything.
