There is a problem with the "But not us, we're the *good* USAnians" [1] that #Canadians have been hearing frequently since Trump assumed his would-be throne for his second administration.
Most of the people referring to themselves this way define it as "We didn't vote for #Trump". But that isn't enough to make you "good". From the day he took power, he has been #threatening, #insulting, #bullying, and denigrating Canada, in addition to threatening #NATO, cozying up to Putin, starting wars, murdering fishermen, trying to destroy the International Criminal Court, making brown people illegal, suppressing women and Democrats, and a thousand other things.
The "We didn't #vote for him" people, for the most part, aren't doing anything about any of that. The truly good #USAnians are in the streets fighting ICE, suing the administration over his #trade wars, protesting *all the time*. Waiting until November to cast a #ballot is insufficient.
To be "good", you need to be stopping him, or at least attempting to do so. When there are a million people #protesting in the streets around the White House and the Capitol *every day until the midterms*, those people will be the "good USAnians".
#Silence is #consent / #agreement with his #Nazi agenda.
[1] They call themselves " #Americans" for some reason, despite the #USA being only 24.5% of the area of the Americas, or 45.1% of North America (less than #Canada).

Up here in #Canada, we're not a bunch of #assholes that won't keep our word. It's not like we'd do something as #stupid and #repugnant and self-destructive and immoral and unethical like demanding someone sign a deal with us, then immediately turn around and violate the terms of that deal, or #abrogate the deal entirely. What kind of #demented #goldfish-brained cognitively-impaired #drooling #moron would do that?
So if we've agreed to sell the US things, we're not going to just cut them off in violation of existing #treaties and #deals and #contracts. We're not like that.
But we don't want to be #boring, either. So we'll mix it up for anything destined for a Washington D.C. address. Every third package will contain a #surprise - angry wasp nest, unredacted box of #Trumpstein files, a loaded bear-trap, landmine, something along those lines.
If it turns out to be popular, we can expand the program to cover all the #MAGA states. It'll be fun!

The U.S. bond market - also known as Treasury bills, T-bills, or government bonds - got decidedly shaky this week after a period of growing uncertainty. Primarily because US #debt is exploding and it is becoming clear to even the dumbest observers that things cannot continue the way they are.
And the expression "If something can not go on forever, then it will stop" applies here, and what it means is the end of the US #dollar as the de-facto world reserve #currency.
So the US #Treasury has been doing more and more drastic actions to try to prop up that bond market. #Bessent, the new head of the Fed, started trying to massage the "yield curve" by buying back long-term bonds with funds from selling more short-term #bonds, and it worked for a hot minute. Then things got shaky again the next day.

Why are the US #Democrats so absolutely #useless?
"Oh, we might skip the State of the Union address to show our displeasure with the administration."
Are you #morons? That would be a gift to Dear Leader and his #lickspittle #Congress. The #SOTU would be Mango Mussolini speaking to a friendly crowd, all happy, applauding, not a contrary expression to be seen. He'll be happy, smiling, at his most congenial as he basks in the warm glow. You do not do this.
What you do is attend. Every #Democratic #house member and #senator. Every staffer and guest that they're entitled to bring. Everyone. You put them all in their assigned places.
And then, when Trump gets up to speak, every single one of them simply turns away from the dictator. Turn their back to him, and *stay* that way for the whole speech. The #optics are great; the cameras show half the crowd with their backs to him, in obvious #protest. The #tyrant has to look at it all through his speech. He's angry. He's spiteful. He puts on a display for the ages, goes off-script, airing every #grievance his Swiss-cheese mind can dredge up. His body language is hostile. #Media coverage shows the event for what it actually is: a #vengeful, #lawless #authoritarian trying to verbally browbeat the legislative branch into submission.

If the #BBC capitulate to the #MangoMussolini who currently occupies the Shitehouse, that will be the last excuse I need to cancel my TV license. I've been wavering since Farage became a permanent member on Question Time and Nigel Lawson was a regular contributor to the climate "debate" on the Today Programme. Enough is enough. Grow some balls, FFS.
Alternatively, give him $20m and then schedule a 30 minute programme every night, prime time, in which Trump's lies du jour are laid out and disproven in full.

The orange moron continues to demonstrate his complete lack of understanding of, and interest in, how things actually work before he decides to issue orders about them.
His recent statements that he's ordering the "Department of War" (there is no such department in his cabinet) to resume nuclear weapons testing, however, are particularly dumb.
#Nuclear weapons tests by the USA have almost exclusively focused on gathering data on the performance of the weapons, to see how close they agree with the modelled and simulated versions during their development. Occasionally they result in a surprise (see: Operation Castle's Bravo detonation), which is critical data.
These tests require *many* months, or even years, of preparation and planning. Making and setting up the necessary instruments and data recorders after planning exactly *what* to collect from *where* and *when* is a ton of work, and takes considerable time.
It isn't slap-dash. You can't put together a useful weapons test in a month. Frankly, given that real-life testing hasn't been done in the USA in decades, and the expertise will likely have to be re-developed, I would be surprised if a useful test could be done in less than two years. Perhaps much longer!
If Trump gets a #test within a year, it will almost certainly be of the "take a #weapon out of inventory and set it off" type, and produce no useful data.
