Call me cynical, but it appears that the MapQuest app for android is being suppressed by google.
Searching for it directly on play doesn't even bring it up in the list in the UK.
Scrolling down 2-3 pages... it's just not there.
Given google capitulated to the mango mussolini immediately... and mapquest surged to the No1 spot for downloads immediately afterwards... Google appear to be trying to hide it from users entirely.
They are instead pushing a so called 'educational' app called MapQuest though... 2nd in the list.
But using a VPN connected through mainland Europe on a desktop computer, and the 2nd pic shows that it's the first app suggested when you search for it.
Google intentionally suppressing the app for the UK?

Up here in #Canada, we're not a bunch of #assholes that won't keep our word. It's not like we'd do something as #stupid and #repugnant and self-destructive and immoral and unethical like demanding someone sign a deal with us, then immediately turn around and violate the terms of that deal, or #abrogate the deal entirely. What kind of #demented #goldfish-brained cognitively-impaired #drooling #moron would do that?
So if we've agreed to sell the US things, we're not going to just cut them off in violation of existing #treaties and #deals and #contracts. We're not like that.
But we don't want to be #boring, either. So we'll mix it up for anything destined for a Washington D.C. address. Every third package will contain a #surprise - angry wasp nest, unredacted box of #Trumpstein files, a loaded bear-trap, landmine, something along those lines.

The orange #dementia patient is now #sundowning in the middle of the day.
The U.S. bond market - also known as Treasury bills, T-bills, or government bonds - got decidedly shaky this week after a period of growing uncertainty. Primarily because US #debt is exploding and it is becoming clear to even the dumbest observers that things cannot continue the way they are.
And the expression "If something can not go on forever, then it will stop" applies here, and what it means is the end of the US #dollar as the de-facto world reserve #currency.
So the US #Treasury has been doing more and more drastic actions to try to prop up that bond market. #Bessent, the new head of the Fed, started trying to massage the "yield curve" by buying back long-term bonds with funds from selling more short-term #bonds, and it worked for a hot minute. Then things got shaky again the next day.

I have a relative who lives in South Carolina (we're both Canadian), which is deep GOP / MAGA country. I recently saw them when they came up for a visit and we talked about Mango Mussolini (as you do).
Worse than the first term, no adults in the room, worst people elevated to positions of power, all the nonsense...
But they agreed that despite his rabid base still ~~burning crosses~~ cheering him on, his popularity is on the decline. I asked "Compared to his first term, do you see fewer people proudly wearing MAGA hats out on the street?"
Their response was surprising: "I don't even remember the last time I saw one." They used to be *everywhere*.
Things can change. USAnians, keep working at it. You might still have a country in 100 days. And then you can start working on restoring democracy.

TEHRAN - The Iranian government's official in charge of infrastructure in the country released a statement today, saying that the Strait of Hormuz will be closed immediately for urgently needed maintenance. The hinges on the gates have worn out much sooner than expected due to recent overuse, and need to be replaced. The Strait is expected to be repaired and back to regular closed status in two-to-three days.

So the US is warning that Iranian state actors are "hacking' US power and water infrastructure and causing disturbances.
They say this like it's unfair, that it somehow crosses a line.
The US has been loudly, proudly bombing civilian infrastructure like power and water for some time, with constant threats of ramping it up further.
Seems like a case of the chickens coming home to roost rather than an unthinkable escalation.

This "51st state" crap just keeps coming back. I'm sick of it.
It's never going to happen voluntarily. There are some nutjob separatists who think they want it, but there aren't nearly as many of them as they think they have.
And Canada isn't going to be taken by force, either. If Mango Mussolini thinks the US military will cakewalk into Canada, he hasn't been paying attention to how well that's going for his friend Putin. I'll be resisting, even if it means I have to throttle invaders with my bare hands.

There's also the fact that the whole tariffs nonsense is due to Trump not understanding the difference between a trade deficit and a budgetary deficit. He only knows the latter, where "deficit" equals "money you lost".
It's the same with his nonsense about other countries emptying their mental institutions and sending the residents to the USA - he doesn't know that people claiming asylum are not, in fact, from mental asylums.
He's an idiot who can't stand to be corrected or instructed.
On tariffs and other trade impediments... he's gonna do what he's gonna do. Modifying your behaviour to try to earn goodwill from him is a fool's errand. Canada's leadership would do well to internalize that.

I've been doing a bunch of iterative test prints today (adjusting design for the correct fit) along with printing a bunch of boring utilitarian bits for my own use. So I've been using my oldest box of filament from my stash, because (a) don't let it get too old, and (b) it's the oldest because I haven't wanted to use it for anything to date, so why not get rid of it?
This particular reel is "metallic gold" and it has an awful, fake-y gold sheen to it. It's ugly. Downright tacky.
I'm feeling very Presidential as a result.

The #SOTU would be Mango Mussolini speaking to a friendly crowd, all happy, applauding, not a contrary expression to be seen. He'll be happy, smiling, at his most congenial as he basks in the warm glow. You do not do this.
What you do is attend. Every #Democratic #house member and #senator. Every staffer and guest that they're entitled to bring. Everyone. You put them all in their assigned places.
And then, when Trump gets up to speak, every single one of them simply turns away from the dictator. Turn their back to him, and *stay* that way for the whole speech. The #optics are great; the cameras show half the crowd with their backs to him, in obvious #protest. The #tyrant has to look at it all through his speech. He's angry. He's spiteful. He puts on a display for the ages, goes off-script, airing every #grievance his Swiss-cheese mind can dredge up. His body language is hostile. #Media coverage shows the event for what it actually is: a #vengeful, #lawless #authoritarian trying to verbally browbeat the legislative branch into submission.
