Protest Thread #104: Yeehaw!
For today's bridge protest, we collaborated with another group, an Indivisible that protests on the north side of the city. It used to be somewhat red up there, but that's clearly not the case any more. Of course we got some middle fingers who don't want *checks notes* the Epstein files released, which raises serious questions, but overall we basked in honks and waves and people flashing their headlights.

#ICE is losing, dramatically, in the courts. They have lost over 10,000 cases of the 11,000ish cases brought before judges.
Of course, losing in court does not take away the pain, the suffering, nor the fear caused by these illegal detentions. But it is good to see (most) judges doing what they can to rein in this evil.

CW: Health conditions in ICE custody, miscarriage
A detailed look at the experience of a woman who had state permission to be in the US, but was detained during a regular check in to process her migration status anyway and subsequently had a miscarriage in ICE custody.
It's impossible to say with 100% certainty whether or not she would have miscarried anyway, but the conditions of her detention included inadequate food and regular disruptions to sleep, in addition to the constant underlying stress of simply being in custody and not knowing what was in store for her and her family. This article does a really good job of detailing the total indifference -- if not outright hostility -- on the part of this "pro-life" regime to even the most basic requests for care.

Someone who lives in a makeshift forest shelter wants to join us in the bus soon.
The Vulpibus now has an air conditioning unit fitted. We have installed a longer 4G antenna.
We almost had somewhere to go and park a while, but the landowner backed out. Again. And the convoy we are trying to form is moving along.So the bus is still in need of a diesel refueling, and the current prices make that a matter of about $400. Links below.
We would really love to convert this bus to an EV but that is going to need a much more generous level of help than most folks here can provide.
There are also many debts to deal with, including car loan and insurance, and bureaucratic needs that have fees to pay. Capitalism is ruthless the most when it is legally enforced and you still don't have the means.
