Откуда взялся «The Rogue Prince of Persia» и как это связано с «Dead Cells» на уровне студий и отдельных людей-персоналий.
В оригинале «Dead Cells» было сделано кооперативом «Motion Twin», но развитием и поддержкой занималось «Evil Empire».
Потому как одна часть «Motion Twin» хотела заниматься созданием других проектов, а кто был дорабатывать «Dead Cells» — те ушли заниматься этим в созданную «Evil Empire». Включая и одного из геймдизайнеров оригинальной «Dead Cells», но который хотел довести игру до ума (имя Себастьян Бенар). За пять лет «Evil Empire» выпустила 22 крупных обновления и удвоила продажи игры, поступательно внося серьёзные доработки и улучшения.
Наступил февраль 2024 и обе компании совместно выпустили заявление, что поддержка игры официально прекращается. А грядущее обновление именуемое «The End is Near» станет финальным контентным патчем для «Dead Cells» (всего лишь 35-м по счёту).
В дополнение к этому анонсу появился инсайд от Себастьяна Бенара, с некоторыми подробностями ситуации:- Студия «Evil Empire» не планировала останавливать работы и планы были расписаны, и утверждены по финансам и на 2024 и на 2025 года. Велись активные работы над новыми патчами и контентом к таковым.
- Владельцем бренда оставалась «Motion Twin» и решила воспользоваться этим для принудительного отзыва лицензии у «Evil Empire», для того чтобы свернуть все работы по «Dead Cells».
- Вот прямо очень-очень хотелось «Motion Twin» продвигать свою новую игру «Windblown» (другого жанра) под лозунгом: «От создавших „Dead Cells“».
Однако, возникала ситуация, когда «Evil Empire» продолжает делать DLC и патчи для «Dead Cells» — всем становится ясно-понятно, что настоящие авторы изначального каноничного варианта «Dead Cells» уже давным-давно не имеют ничего общего с «Motion Twin», а банально ушли в другую студию и доработка с развитием игры уже много лет не имеет ничего общего с «Motion Twin».
В результате, чуть ли не финансовая катастрофа — штат из 50 человек «Evil Empire» оказался не у дел. Вот тут на сцену и вышла игра «The Rogue Prince of Persia», которой занимались уже некоторое время, причём по заказу издателя «Ubisoft». Высвободившиеся ресурсы студии пошли на доработку и ускоренную полировку этого нового «рогалика», хоть по сути и напоминающей «Dead Cells».

I saw a post on here a while back that said that fascism in America is because America didn't punish the Confederacy enough after its civil war.
That is only part of it though. I say it's also because America didn't punish Nazis enough after WWII. Instead, America welcomed Nazis with open arms, especially if they could build America bigger, deadlier weapons.
