  1. Rewrote Parts' frontend with #reframe and it's like paying off tech debt while getting a free architecture upgrade. UI looks identical but now state flows predictably, everything responds instantly, and I can actually reason about the code.

  2. @GrrlScientist

    Great reframing! 🙂

“I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change.

I am changing the things I cannot accept.”

I have always hated the complacency of the original & the do-nothing to challenge the status quo out it provides. Thx for sharing this. 🙂

  3. @JuliusGoat posts a column exposing the ongoing oppression of conservatives.

"Immigrants oppress conservatives by existing, and this oppression takes the form of conservatives having to be aware that they exist ... this is a very oppressive thing for conservatives to endure, and if you don't believe me, go ask them."

He also offers a future path with hope for more oppression like that.

  5. "In those days [my younger years] I merely wanted to know when the current crisis would end so I could get on with my life. I didn't understand that the crisis (or present transit) was the whole point--a precious opportunity to transform something within myself."

  10. It's the last day of #RSECon23. Attended a fantastic session on #ReFrame for automated task running on #HPC yesterday (designed for tests but in this case benchmarks). It was fully hands-on using #Archer2, which really removed the mystery in a good way. This alone would have been worth attending for.

  11. @maryhamermusic yeah, I use so many self-care apps! #insighttimer for meditation, #noom for weight loss, #reframe for drinking, #Endel for concentrating. #zero is fine; apart from the timer, it has articles about the science of fasting and related topics; it has challenges, and it can integrate with your other health trackers (through the Health app on an iPhone for example) so you can check the interactions among exercise, sleeping, and fasting, etc.

  12. A. Why not try an ice cream sandwich instead? They aren't as top heavy and easier to carry around on that gorgeous beach. You did notice the beach, right?

    Problem solved. Oops.

    Q. Oh, but I got fired/divorced/flunked the test!

    A. Sounds like there are new opportunities on the horizon. What do you really want? It clearly wasn't that, or it would have worked out differently, right?

    Oops!

  13. "Am I the thoughts or the one who listens to them?"

We can't question thoughts until we identify as the listener. That is the moment our empowerment begins.

Today's mindfulness challenge is to listen for negative self-talk. If you spill coffee and hear a thought like, "I'm so stupid!" Pause and think of a few exceptions.

The truth is, everyone spills coffee once in a while - it doesn't mean anything at all. Awareness gradually shifts our experience in a more positive direction.

  14. I've always used #reagent with #reframe, but lately been thinking.. is that necessary? Reagent does have quite a nice set of tools for state management, cursor, track, rswap etc (github.com/reagent-project/rea).

Does anyone have any experience in building a non-trivial app with reagent but without reframe?
