Well that was a weird iOS 27 Beta 8 bug. Could not swipe horizontally. Well they didn’t register one to one in the touch target. Barely got the phone to be reboot. You used to be able to extended hold volume and power to shut down to reboot. Now if you do, it calls emergency services. :neocat_cafe: #apple #iphone #ios27

The iOS27 and macOS27 release will be pretty exciting. Many AI backed features that will leverage the experience.

I know Mastodon is mostly against AI but since its all non GenAI / local stuff, I hope everyone is fine with it.

The last thing I tried out is a AI music detector using the SONICS model. As usually nothing is perfect and its certainly a cat and mouse game.

I definitely need to find a solution for the binary size, since it has exploded with the AI models. As far as I know, you can load large assets in a different way?

Gosh I hate AI music.

I mostly like the new audio AppEntity schemas in iOS 27, but there are a lot of weird quirks when it comes to implementing Shortcuts actions.

My conspiracy theory is that, because of the AI Shortcuts builder, Apple didn’t bother considering the end user’s experience building shortcuts for apps that adopt the new App Intents features.

Or maybe I just don’t know what the heck I’m doing, which I really hope is the case.

@ssamulczyk I’ve submitted very little #ios27 feedback. Think almost all of it has been fixed 🥳. Only thing that was lingering was the keyboard not opening in messages sometimes. Hopefully it’s fixed now.

Seems #Apple has mostly fixed all the weird bugs in #iPadOS27 beta 8 with the external display attached. Previously it as issues with the disappearing pointer, display refresh rate, performance issues, etc.

Now it works just fine.

#iOS27 is still running great, though. With that I’ve had virtually zero issues.

For me, the #SiriAI beta is rough in #iOS27. Basic requests like setting timers, texting someone, and controlling home smart devices take noticeably longer now. Doubly so on my Series 10 watch.

The rest of iOS 27 feels pretty good to me. But yeah Siri AI is in a rough spot. I hope they keep this part in beta beyond the launch.

Here's what I ask "new" Siri every time a new beta comes out:

"Create an Apple Music playlist of all Rush studio albums after Roll The Bones. No live albums, no compilations."

It never works or even really *attempts* to work. It either tells me writing assistance is disabled for this account OR it just looks up a list of Rush studio albums on Wikipedia.
