Reading through Deutsche Welles’ coverage of the rivers running dry (Rhine, Danube, etc) and local consequences (barges only a quarter loaded & cost implications for various industries, nuclear power stations reducing generation because not enough water or water temperature too high, etc) there’s a lot on local short term mitigation but little mention of action on the longer term beyond motherhood statements (like need to reduce fossil fuel burning).
