  8. ✍️ Adjusting Goals without Quitting 🎯

Adjusting goals without quitting matters because progress in fitness is built on consistency, not perfection.

🛑 Missed Targets Are Feedback, Not Failure

    🙆‍♂️ Flexibility Protects Consistency

  9. A few months ago, I came across this "trick" to stop overthinking.

Replace the words “What if...” with “Even if...” and create a new perspective that is not characterized by doubt.

    Why is that?

  10. Today’s post is about something I almost forgot the other day when I received an unexpected proposition (that helped me turn it from a not so good opportunity into a better one)

    Great reframing! 🙂

“I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change.

I am changing the things I cannot accept.”

I have always hated the complacency of the original & the do-nothing to challenge the status quo out it provides. Thx for sharing this. 🙂

  16. We are reframing ecosystems as infrastructure

"Living landscapes are a form of infrastructure in the sense that forests, for example, clean our water and our air."

"...It is not enough simply to restore natural systems to their former condition. “There is no ‘pure nature’ that’s outside of us, untouched up there in the foothills somewhere...We’ve ‘made’ the world what it is already, so now we need to take a very, very strong hand in the remaking. … A big part of climate adaptation may simply be unbuilding what we’ve already built.”

"A big part of climate adaptation may simply be unbuilding what we’ve already built. Rather than thinking of design as something merely additive or “beautifying,” we need to think about undoing our environmental mistakes, like damming rivers, bulkheading our shorelines, and concretizing streams. We need to start making room for rivers and floods."

"What we are trying to do is integrate many local projects into a larger-scale systemic approach, into a larger-scale resilience plan."

As someone whose day job is in tech support, I've learned not to discount the power of "Mercury in retrograde". Except it isn't, and the frustrations I experienced last week were obstacles to be sure. In fact, to be honest, it left me wo

  19. It seems that recently the main meaning of “agile” is basically what Swiss German calls “speditiv.” Which is nice, especially when uttered by public services etc.

But that’s *not* the original meaning and I doubt that procurement or first and second-level ICT support are the best places to become agile in the original meaning.

Could people please use terms properly and not dilute them when they already have fitting terms for what they want to express? #AskingForAnEngineer

  20. CW: Smoking, rant-ish

Really great that I noticed: all the smoking neighbors here start coughing hard first when they start their make-the-whole-hood-stinking process. 🙈

With that I can close windows & doors *before* the 🤢 air has time to get close and in. Like a human smoke alarm. 😂🥳
