.. my few close friends think I'm more of an analog type
.. difficult to reach, call back only after days, if at all, and stubbornly refuse to install or even use whats app, f..k-book or similar!

But there is one thing I really like about this digitally-enslaved age: namely all the smart-phone zombies with earphones who wander around talking on the phone all the time ..

.. because since they have existed, it is no longer particularly noticeable that I am constantly talking to myself ..

For me ..
this is a real relief and increase in the quality of "living along".

Sometimes you trust people, and they fail you. That isn't necessarily proof that you were foolish. It's simply life. It still hurts, though. And, well… that's rather where I find myself this morning.

But sitting here in a funk won't get anything done. So I'll pull my socks properly up, straighten my little face, and get on with things. Stubbornly, if necessary. I may look terribly sweet, but I have been known to earn a proper telling-off now and then. 😇

Perhaps I'll fill my KoFi with some more content today. Perhaps I'll be productive. Perhaps I'll conquer the world.

Cocoa Puffs, Golden Grahams

The Quadrille is simply a poem of 44 words (excluding the title), and it can take any form. This week’s challenge was to use the word “puff” in a Quadrille.

I was sorry to hear that Penelope Keith has died.

Many people will remember her as Margo in The Good Life, but for me it was To the Manor Born.

Audrey fforbes-Hamilton could have been unbearable in the wrong hands. Proud, snobbish, stubborn, ridiculous.

But Penelope Keith made her human.

She had that rare comic gift of being completely precise without becoming cold. Every look, every pause, every lifted eyebrow seemed to know exactly where it belonged.

She was only sixteen years older than me, which feels close now.

When I was young, eighty-six sounded like another country. Now it feels like someone a little further down the same road has quietly stepped out of sight.

She made dignity funny.

Dinant is cursed.

Today was the fourth time I tried to run the Descente de la Lesse.

1st time: DNF, fell, sprained my ankle.
2nd time: DNS, injury the week before.
3rd time: DNS, injury after casual run the day before.
4rd time (this time): finished but twisted my ankle 6k before the finish line.

Every other run: not a problem. But this one..

So I’m done. Never coming back to this town.

It sucks when you wake up wanting to go to work and you can't put weight on your foot cause you find out you've sprained it. I've been doing better and went for my usual lesson in #karate today and did fine till I had to spin in the air for a kata and it hurt pretty good. My instructor asked what happened and gently scolded me (which, for him, is being nice), and we adjusted. Long story short, I'm doing better, just don't be a dumb ass like me...
