I'm reading a book of short stories by J.G. Ballard and I read one last night that I really liked. A scientist that was slowly succumbing to a disease basically did some science magic to himself to activate secret mutations and he developed the sense ability to see and hear time and the stars and the ultimate source of the universe. Really enjoying the author's work, highly recommend.
