Good morning.
(Or is it? 😅)I need to make a decision soon, and I really, really don't want to.
I'm heading towards bankruptcy, with all the delightful consequences that entails. Not because my business has stopped earning - it's struggling, yes, but it's still earning.
The problem is that I lent money to my flatmate and partner. They were supposed to pay me back. They've had three months. There have been promises. Week after week after week.
And somehow, remarkably, the money has remained entirely theoretical.
I might have handled this rather better if I hadn't spent three months believing all those promises and excuses.
Oh well. Lesson learned, I suppose.
Coffee first. Existential financial crisis afterwards. ☕🙂

I was late because there was a sweet shop across the road, and apparently getting candy was more important than punctuality.
The school disagreed.
I got punished.

Sometimes you trust people, and they fail you. That isn't necessarily proof that you were foolish. It's simply life. It still hurts, though. And, well… that's rather where I find myself this morning.
But sitting here in a funk won't get anything done. So I'll pull my socks properly up, straighten my little face, and get on with things. Stubbornly, if necessary. I may look terribly sweet, but I have been known to earn a proper telling-off now and then. 😇
Perhaps I'll fill my KoFi with some more content today. Perhaps I'll be productive. Perhaps I'll conquer the world.

Enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee before the day gets crazy. The granddaughter, 2 daughters, and son-in-law are due to arrive momentarily. That means a trip to the beach this afternoon, BBQ duties for dinner, and lots of stuff in between.

Enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee this morning as I make a list of projects for today. We have 4 contractors coming in over the next 2 weeks, and I've got prep work to get ready. Nothing too strenuous or stressful as the bulk of the tasks are done. These projects (staircase, Murphy bed, closet organizers, and eavestrough) will also use up most of our contingency funds we gained from our downsizing earlier this year. Back to boring old budgeting.
