NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR AUGUST 24, 2026:
A high-pressure system keeps the #Northland mostly #clear of #clouds Sunday night. A bit of #fog is possible with low #temperatures in the 40s and 50s.
Monday will see some #clouds at times, but we remain #dry and comfortable. A light lake #breeze will keep those next to #LakeSuperior in the upper 60s and low 70s for highs, with upper 70s farther inland.

Heavy Horses
Perhaps, like me, you now have Jethro Tull ear worming into your brain. My sympathies, but it’s a great track. However, I nipped down the road this morning to check out the Heavy Horse open day at Oakfield Farm. The day was hot and dry, and especially in the morning the dust that was kicked up added a decent bit of atmosphere to the proceedings.

#Amsterdam had been hot, and very very #dry for a very long time. Finally today we got a tiny bit of rain, just sufficient to let some water accumulate on the pavement. These dusty #doves are taking a badly needed bath. I have been living in this neighborhood for 50 years now and I have never seen them do this!
