Open Call für Aro und Ace Künstler*innen!
Für die AktivistA-Konferenz 2026 am 5. September in Stuttgart suchen wir kreative Beiträge, die sich den vielfältigen Facetten der Aromantik und/oder Asexualität widmen.
Diese können je nach Format auf der Bühne präsentiert oder performt werden. Im Anschluss planen wir einen Round Table mit allen Beitragenden, um über die Bedeutung und Herausforderungen der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit aro/ace-Themen zu sprechen.
Falls du Interesse hast oder mehr Infos benötigst, schreib gerne eine Mail an finxthulk[at]tutamail.com mit ein paar Sätzen über dich und deine Beitragsidee.Es sind alle kreativen Beiträge wie z. B. Gedichte, Performances, Skulpturen, Videos, Fotografien etc. willkommen, egal ob du das als “Kunst” labelst oder nicht. :)
Zudem haben wir einen kleinen Topf für Fahrtkosten etc., außerdem gibt es wie bei allen Beiträgen Mittagessen umsonst.

Die Ausgabe 02/2026 des kuckuck beschäftigt sich mit Asexualität und Aromantik und lädt dazu ein, Horizonte bisheriger kulturwissenschaftlicher Geschlechter- und Sexualitätsforschung um Aro/Ace-Lebenswelten zu erweitern und damit normierte Verständnisse von und Perspektiven auf Beziehungen, Zusammenleben, Liebe, Intimität
und Sexualität zu hinterfragen. Auch wenn es in den letzten Jahren vermehrt
Bemühungen von aktivistischer wie wissenschaftlicher Seite gibt, Aro/Ace-Perspektiven eine größere Sichtbarkeit zu verschaffen, bestehen noch viele Leerstellen auch innerhalb queer-feministischer Räume.Die Kategorien Asexualität und Aromantik sind weder als starr noch klar abgrenzbar zu verstehen, sondern als ein Spektrum, auf dem es diverse und dynamische
Erfahrungshorizonte gibt. Während asexuelle Personen selten, wenig oder keine sexuelle Anziehung verspüren, erfahren aromantische Personen selten, wenig oder keine romantische Anziehung. Eine Person kann sexuelle, aber keine romantische Anziehung verspüren; romantische Anziehung, aber keine sexuelle, oder sich weder sexuell noch romantisch zu anderen hingezogen fühlen. Das A*-Spektrum ist vielfältig, dennoch werden Romantik und Sexualität meist zusammen gedacht – das aromantische „Aro” als untergeordneter Bestandteil des „Ace” oder Asexuellen behandelt. Daher begrüßen wir in dieser Ausgabe Beiträge, die sich mit Aro – als eigenständiges Phänomen – und Ace beschäftigen und damit einen kritischen Blick auf gesellschaftliche Konstruktionen von Heteronormativität und Amatonormativität in kapitalistischen und patriarchalen Gesellschaften werfen.
Vor dem Hintergrund fortschreitender Angriffe von rechten und autoritären Akteur:innen auf queere Menschen sowie auf Geschlechterforschung und queere Anthropologie birgt die emergierende Aro/Ace-Forschung ein Potenzial, Verständnisse stark politisierter Themen wie Geschlecht, Intimität, Sexualität, (Kern)Familie, Migration (u.a.
Aufenthaltsrechte/Familienzusammenführung), Wohnen, Care, Reproduktion, Religion sowie Medizin zu transformieren und damit verbundene Hierarchien, Machtgefüge und Diskriminierungen in Frage zu stellen.Call for Contributions Aro/Ace
Wir freuen uns über Beiträge, die sich im Sinne einer eingreifenden Wissenschaft sowie aus einer aktivistischen Sichtweise der Thematik zuwenden und dabei insbesondere intersektionale Perspektiven berücksichtigen sowie über solche, die historische, theoretische und erfahrungsbezogene Einblicke zu Themenfeldern einbringen, die hier unerwähnt bleiben:
- Wie wird Aro/Ace-sein gelebt? Welche Beziehungsformen jenseits von romantischer und sexueller Intimität gibt es? Welchen gesellschaftlichen Stellenwert nehmen sie ein? Wie können Beziehungshierarchien, die romantischen/sexuellen Beziehungen
Vorrang geben, ausgehandelt, kritisiert, umgestaltet bzw. abgeschafft werden?- Wie finden im Aro/Ace-Alltag Aushandlungen über Konsens, Körperlichkeiten, Nähe, Leidenschaft und Verbundenheit statt?
- Welche Solidaritäten, Ein- und Ausschlüsse entstehen innerhalb von LGBTQIA*-Communities und über diese hinaus?
- Wie (un)politisch gestalten sich Aro/Ace-Lebenswelten? Welches (radikale) Potenzial für die Untersuchung von Beziehungsformen, Zusammenleben, Geschlecht und Sexualität, liegt Aro/Ace-Perspektiven inne?
- Wie werden asexuelle und aromantische Ökonomien praktiziert? Wie können Aro/Ace-freundliche Räume und Gesellschaften entstehen?
- Welche gesellschaftlichen und rechtlichen Diskriminierungen werden durch Amatonormativität legitimiert und verfestigt?
- Wie wird Aro/Ace sichtbar? Wie steht es um Repräsentation in Kunst und Medien,
Populärkultur? Mit welchen Symbolen arbeiten Aro/Ace-Diskurse?- Welche historischen Zugänge zu den Themen Asexualität und Aromantik gibt es? Wie sieht der Umgang mit historischen Materialien und die Arbeit in Archiven aus?
Wir freuen uns auf Abstracts, Ideen und Vorschläge von 150 Wörtern für empirische, konzeptionelle, essayistische, aktivistische und künstlerische Beiträge sowie eine kurze biografische Notiz der Beitragenden bis zum 22. Februar 2026 per E-Mail an
