My friend was drunkenly complaining about being unable to find a woman to spend his time with last night and it made me so glad I prefer my own company and haven't dated since I was underaged. Being #AroAce means I miss out on a lot of heartbreak and loneliness.

It does make my advice on how to try to meet somebody automatically suspect tho.

@Clianthus Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger. It's a really cool modern day setting featuring the mystical elements of different cultures being real. The central character happens to be asexual and aromantic and completely comfortable with that. The storyline is investigating her cousin's mysterious death.

Einen gemeinsamen Infostand von AktivistA und der Asexuellen und Aromantischen Community Hamburg
findet ihr neben dem LSVD (B56) auf dem Jungfernstieg etwa beim Bistro/Café Mio.
Für die Parade heute hat die Aspec-Truppe die Nummer 70. Aufstellungsort ist vor dem Café "Mit Herz und Zucker", Ecke Lübecker Str./Neubertstr. Die Aufstellung erfolgt ab 11 Uhr, um 12 Uhr soll es offiziell losgehen.
Aus dem Süden wünscht die Verfasserin trockenes Wetter für die Demo.

I know fedi isn't a good rep of RL but tbh, I think poly / ace (or the desire to be) are more common than ppl think. Is why these "mono" ppl cheat and divorce so much.

I pretty much agree with all the points made here and this article had some new ones I didn't even consider. Like yeah, it does look pretty similar to the nonbinary flag, and that can cause issues, or how most people don't know the meaning of each stripe so they care more about the design.

They're just going to see the clashing design and go, "That's kinda ugly," and move on. Not to mention it ruins the symmetry with the aromantic flag, and that flag already came to the conclusion that adding yellow to it just doesn't look good.

Like, I get the additional two stripes are well-intentioned, but they make the flag too busy/clashing and it very much feels like it was made by someone who doesn't have much experience in graphic design. The darker reddish purple right next to that bright pink just doesn't work. At least make the pink and yellow the same shade as the purple.

We use the darker colors because asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction, so adding bright and clashing colors kind of ruins that. We don't have to match the brighter and more intense colors of the other pride flags because asexuality is unique, and that's not a bad thing! We shouldn't have to conform to what the allos are doing.

Also like, for flag changes like switching away from the lipstick lesbian flag was because the flag wasn't inclusive and the creator was biphobic, transphobic, and racist, so switching to a more inclusive flag made sense. Unless there's something I don't know about the designer of the asexual flag, that reason doesn't apply here.

i have a question for trans arospec people who do feel romantic attraction to a limited degree, i believe i may have made a breakthrough in how my romantic orientation works

i've identified as arospec for a long time, for a qhile i thought i could only feel it towards one specific person but recently small feelings for another person have appeared. i concluded that i was greyromantic (still arospec, but like less). now i think it's happening again though to a much smaller degree and i think i know why

so this is my question. did romantic attraction become more frequent after coming to terms with gender identity?
