  6. This is #NonDuality. Fixed categories are often provisional. Human experience is fluid. Identities shift. Desires shift. relationships shift. Bodies shift. Clinging to rigid definitions often produces conflict. #Buddhism asks a simpler question: does this lead to harm or to reduced suffering? That is the practical concern. (40/54)

  7. This #insight connects deeply with #Naturism. In #Mukyōhō #Naturism is not separate from #Buddhism. It can be a lived expression of #NonDuality, #equality, & simplicity. When clothing as #social armour falls away, many artificial distinctions soften. Status symbols disappear. Fashion hierarchies disappear. The #body returns to what it has always been: #natural, varied, ordinary. (17/54)

  8. For beginners, #NonDuality can sound abstract, but it is practical. Consider the #body. #Society teaches shame, comparison, hierarchy, & judgement. One #body is praised, another mocked. One age is idealised, another hidden. Yet in direct experience, the #body is simply the #body: breathing, sweating, ageing, healing, moving. #Shame is learned, not inherent. (16/54)

  9. This is why #NonDuality matters. #NonDuality means not dividing #reality into rigid opposites. We habitually separate: good/bad, sacred/profane, pure/impure, mine/yours, success/failure. These divisions help with language, but they can also create delusion. #Reality is not neatly split. The boundaries are often conceptual. Day becomes night gradually. Childhood becomes adulthood gradually. Life becomes death gradually. Nothing stands isolated. (15/54)

  10. Samsang — Live 2-hour Recurring Sunday Satsang on Zoom

  14. What is the true nature of mind?

In this Zen teaching, Zen Master Sebastian Rizzon explores the One Mind Dharma, Buddha nature, and awareness beyond thought, self, and separation.

With references to Bodhidharma, Mazu, the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra, koan practice, meditation, light, waves, prisms, and music, this talk points toward the mind before thought.

  15. The “I” That is Seeking Liberation is Unreal: “All Are Appearances in and of Awareness” — Advaita, Gaudapada & the Seeker Who Never Was

A friend messaged “All are appearances in and of awareness” in reply to my poem “Big B” – https://selfrealization.blog/2026/04/13/big-b/.

    I responded back as follows:

With such perfect understanding already in place, are you sure I might have anything else to add to that. Really, what you wrote just now is all the knowledge one needs to undertake and finish the spiritual journey with no need for any other prop. The very looking for other props is itself the obstacle to the full manifestation of the understanding that is already there…shit, one knows one has to just “keep quiet” and everything will be accomplished and yet why are we all restless?

    “Sitting quietly, doing nothing;
Spring comes, and the grass grows by itself.”

    ~ Matsuo Basho

This (“All are appearances in and of awareness”) is all that the name-and-form analogy of the clay and pot conveys albeit in different words.

The only problem then for you and I might be that we are failing to grasp that the I that is seeking to understand and attain self-realization is itself an “appearance in and of awareness”.

Which is why Ashtavakra Gita and Gaudapada’s Verse 32 in Chapter 2 of Mandukya Karika (see below) and Sankaracharya’s Nirvana Shatakam say what they say.

Mandukya Karika 2.32 (Vaitathya Prakarana) asserts that from the standpoint of Absolute Truth (Paramartha), there is no creation, destruction, bondage, liberation, or seeker. This famous verse highlights that all dualistic experiences are illusions, and the ultimate reality is non-dual (Advaita), often interpreted as the unborn, unchanging Self. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

    Sanskrit Verse (2.32):

    न निरोधो न चोत्पत्तिर्न बद्धो न च साधकः ।न मुमुक्षुर्न वै मुक्त इत्येषा परमार्थता ॥ ३२ ॥

na nirodho na cotpattirna baddho na ca sādhakaḥ |na mumukṣurna vai mukta ityeṣā paramārthatā || 32 ||

    Translation & Key Meanings:

    • na nirodho: There is no destruction.
    • na ca utpattiḥ: There is no creation or origin.
    • na baddhaḥ: There is no one in bondage.
    • na ca sādhakaḥ: There is no one practicing spiritual disciplines.
    • na mumukṣuḥ: There is no seeker after liberation.
    • na vai muktaḥ: There is no one liberated.
    • iti eṣā paramārthatā: This is the Absolute Truth. [1, 2]

    Significance:

    • Non-Dual Reality: This verse by Gaudapada clarifies that the ultimate reality is entirely free from all dualistic concepts, including the processes of spiritual seeking or the state of liberation itself.
    • Context: It comes within the context of analyzing the “unreality” (Vaitathya) of the world and the mind, noting that when knowledge of the Self is attained, all mental projections disappear.
    • Absolute vs. Relative: While relative existence appears as a world of change, from the ultimate standpoint, no change ever occurred, as explained on VivekaVani and Tom Das. [1, 2, 6]

  16. NON-DUAL AWARENESS
Another Way to Experience Being Alive

There’s a quiet shift that happens when the mind stops chasing every thought.

    Less anxiety.
    More presence.
    Less noise.
    More awareness.

This piece reflects on experiencing life without constant internal commentary — not as an escape, but as a deeper form of being.

  17. To see the world clearly, stop trying to possess it. Let go of control, of judgement, of labels. Just look. Just be. When the “I” grows quiet, the whole world returns to view — not as something apart, but as something lived, intimate, immediate. There is no “outside” to this experience. Everything you see is you.

You, before thought, are the same: being itself. #Naked under the sky, the illusion of being separate begins to fall away. No gender. No category. No inside or outside. Only this.

  23. Nowadays, the word Tantra carries many meanings.

It is used to describe intimacy, embodiment, emotional expression, relational depth. What's important - none of these are inherently outside the field and scope of practice, yet historically Tantra was not designed as a philosophy of better living. It was designed as a method of seeing, or rather a way of examining how perception is constructed

  29. Inquiry: Testing What’s Concept

Use these slowly. Let your body answer before your mind does.

    Concept or actual?

Recall a recent stressful moment (argument, email, criticism).
    Ask:
What are my added interpretations (why they did it, what it “means” about me)?
    Notice:
How much of my suffering sits in the interpretation column, not the facts?

    Word versus sensation

Bring to mind a current feeling you label often (e.g. “anxiety”, “shame”, “anger”).
    Drop the word completely. Ask:
Where do I feel this in the body, exactly?
What is the texture—tight, hot, heavy, buzzing, empty?
Stay with the raw sensations for 30–60 seconds.
Does anything shift when it’s “just sensation” instead of “my problem”?

  30. Duality is a trick of language: subject & object, “self” & other, here & there. But #reality is undivided. You don’t end at your skin. There’s no solid wall between “me” & “you,” between breath & air. Even thought is part of the stream. Let the illusion dissolve. Look without naming. Feel without dividing. #Experience without the filter of identity.

  31. "Hegel ... sees things in terms of a 'principle of Idealism' ... It is a teleological or quasi-teleological principle, according to which things must be seen as if existing on account of, or as if tending towards, certain consummating experiences, experiences where there will cease to be a barrier between the self and other persons, or between the thinking mind and the world confronting it."

  37. Threads of Memory, Threads of Grace

Where nothing is done, yet nothing is undone.

Pause. Everything has been on pause, a hiatus to focus on more pressing matters at the present moment. I’m tired and rundown, but at the same time, I’m filled with energy to move forward, propelled by an unknown force to continue even in the most stressful moments.

If someone had told me what this year would bring, I wouldn’t have envisioned this would be how I’d handle things. It’s been a wild ride watching each moment unfold in my exhaustion. My patience may wane, yet there is a compassion behind the cloud of frustration, for this is life – a deeply mysterious and path-filled with suffering and craving.

Photo by Brett Sayles on Pexels.com

I watch the veil of memory become clouded, in disarray, fleeting moments of fantasical, entangled thought dispelled by the light of the past as I guide awareness back to now through memory. I watch the partner’s frustration, fear, and anger arise, unable to cope with the reality of the moment.

My memories are also not precise. They often cloud the moment with judgment, diluting the magic of newness and casting shadows on my experiences, shaped by nostalgia, regret, or longing.

Yet love is unconditional and boundless, swaddling the loss, the hurt, the fear, and the pain, allowing a glimpse of the truth. The bigger picture, the heart of the matter, this entire journey, this life we live in, material trappings fettered away. In our most challenging moments, we discover our strength, understand hope, fully appreciate unconditional love, and know that this journey is rife with meaning.

There are moments when there is no longer separation between the doer and the deed, the actor and the act; it is all one. It is a miraculous dance of souls asleep to the true nature of being bound by karma, awakening slowly one by one, understanding the true nature of being in the meaning behind each moment. Moksha.

“Nothing is done, yet nothing remains undone.”

    ~Lao Tzu

I let go of the fleeting wisps of memory and touch the sacred, now unfurling with raw emotion, learning not to push away but to feel deeply the nuance, the realness, and the beauty of this life.

  38. When one talks of consciousness, one is likely to think in terms of an individual. But understand that it is not really the individual that has consciousness, but it is the consciousness that assumes innumerable forms.
