  1. “It was easy to feel insignificant, here in this grand room built by a long-lost civilization, with a mysterious and deadly adversary commanding em to vanish, but Horace had not chosen this adventure to abandon it. E may not be skilled, but e was stubborn and dedicated, and not so easy to get rid of.”

“With so many #skilled players capable of entering the pro ranks, […] the current professionals push themselves to stay on top of their #game […] accelerating the pace at which pros reach their breaking point, retire and are replaced […]”

“The inaccurate #belief that #players peak in their early #20s — despite the lack of actual #medical research — thus becomes a self-fulfilling #prophecy.”

  12. Interesting article by GitHub on #AI generated code.
    github.blog/2024-02-22-how-ai-

Plenty of things to complain about #generativeai and #programming, but I don't want to go back to a time before these tools were available. I've become addicted in no time. I delete and rewrite a lot of the generated code. But the utility and #productivity gains are undeniable.

But, no matter how great the tool, #humans still need to be #qualified, knowledgeable, & #skilled.

Please browse all of my thousands of posts.. (ha).. and maybe tell me what you think my images would be great for... Thanks 👍.

Advertising? Storyboard? Marketing? Posters? Anything else of course. Would love to know your thoughts. 🙏

Maybe my abilities would be better for something unrelated to creating images?

  16. The #entertainment industry in North America is facing a reckoning. Three years on from the pandemic that shut most of our workplaces down (in some cases for years, and many individual companies didn't ever come back), facing a loss of traditional revenue streams and an audience that doesn't look or act the same as it used to, we're reaching the expiry date on the rushed (and often exploitative) contracts that got us back to work. After years of being told that we should be grateful to have any #work at all, wildly #understaffed productions, a massive loss of #skilled #labour across all facets of the industry (so, so many either left for other jobs or didn't survive the pandemic years), and #inflation shrinking our already-too-small paycheques, we're seeing #union after union vote to #strike in 2023-24. It's a scary and unstable time, with many of us having already exhausted our savings just to make it through 2020-21 ... but it's so heartening to see my #siblings in unions across the continent being willing to stand up and say "we are worth a living wage and a secure, safe work environment". To see us vote for our long-term benefit, knowing that it will bring short-term hardships. If you know anyone who works in #Film #Television or #LiveEntertainment please show them your support now. The people who make the art you love are in crisis and fighting back.
