Shampoo, soap, and hot water.

Laundry done and put away, bills paid, adulting tasks for the day are done, trash is out, and Hubby's coffee is ready to go when he gets up. He used to prep mine when I was working, so now I prep his. ❤️

Good to feel that there's order in my little corner of the world. Much remains on the to-do list, but I have less sense of being driven by what's left. There's breathing space. As my friend and I used to assure each other, "It gets done."

2. Someone finally disposed of the armadillo corpse that was rotting away on a lawn on our usual route.
3. Received some good recommendations for a hotel and a cafe in Alicante, Spain. Now I just need to plan the trip!

1. Spent several hours reviewing and researching my Memorial Day OTD person. I learned some new things and improved the old blog post.

2. Clean sheets.

3. I picked up a prescription that I thought was for 30 days. Instead it was for 90 days and was much cheaper than expected. I hope it wasn't an error, because I'm thrilled.

Monday, May 25💐

1. Local granddaughter brought three gorgeous, huge 🍅🍅🍅 from the farmers’ market — they taste like real tomatoes, unlike the fake ones from the grocery store which cost $2.50/ea.
2. Last December’s chicken thighs have been liberated from the freezer, awaiting slow cooker concoction, which should take care of this week’s dinners. (I need a cook!)
3. Vagabond son & DIL will be here soon for a few weeks’ visit before they head for Europe. Honey-do list underway! 😛
4. Bonus: Limited view of Senso-Ji temple (Japan) - from traveling son.

1. Had a wonderful long weekend that began with lunch with OH at our favourite little cafe in town, continued with a BBQ with my favourite* brother yesterday, and ended with breakfast this morning and movies this afternoon

2. Finally saw Project Hail Mary and we both loved it**

3. Spoke to 2 of my 3 best friends on Teams this weekend. Two live in South Africa and one in Ireland, but I chat to each of them 1-2 a month

Sunday, May 24💐

1. Both traveling twins arrived safely at their destinations. It’s weird being 5100 miles (Tokyo) from Twin B, yet still texting!
2. Breezy enough to sit in the sun all morning and just ‘be’ with the music of the hummingbirds, dragonflies, little chorus of bush birds, jays, squirrels, tiny wind chimes, and the star soprano mockingbird.
3. Expecting grandkids to visit today, one of whom is bringing veggie treasures from the farmers’ market.
4. Bonus: Instead of a later video, I caught the live online Pentecost Mass from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan. Impressive choir! (Happy Pentecost to those who celebrate.)

It is a bee-youuuu-ti-ful day here! And it has been a nice weekend overall. 😊

1/ My walking partner had to miss one day this week, but we were back on track today. The 'once around the block' thing is definitely not happening; we are out for at least half an hour every time - but that's okay! That's a good thing!! 💪

2/ Yesterday was 'Yard Sale Day' here: I made it as far as one place where I bought five heavy denim panels to use as black-out curtains - I think they are going to work very well! Jjust what I wanted, the price was right, & available only half a block down the street. 😄

3/ I *also* picked up a carpetbag embroidered with ladybugs and daisies!! 🐞 🌼 🐞 🌼🐞 🤩

I absolutely didn't need it, but c'mon! LADYBUGS and DAISIES!!

(It *is* nice. And it means I now have a single piece of luggage that isn't a backpack signalling poor student hitchhiking to get home. 😄)

Today is going to be an easy day of chopping wood & carrying water.

The last of the curtains are in the laundry (they were clean, but washed in a strong-smelling detergent. I'm washing them again & trying to air-dry them outside.)

General cleaning & tidying.

I need to make lentils, soup, or similar to carry me through the next few days.

My second mid-term is this Friday, so need to study for that.

But it is such a beautiful day that all those things seem not just possible, but easy to do. 🥰
