  1. The alarm was five-thirty. The river path was slick with frost. Luna had the pillow.

Every logical argument was against going out. I went anyway.

What kept you going when everything was telling you to stop?

  4. Darkness stopped being an obstacle the day it became my teacher.

Five years of winter mornings taught me: trust isn't the absence of fear, it's the practice of moving forward anyway.

  6. The first time I ran in Swedish winter darkness, I couldn't see ahead.

Streetlights made pools of orange. Beyond that, just darkness. My feet learned to trust what eyes couldn't see.

  8. What a surprise start into the first work week 🤗 cleaning all pipes with a swift pyramid run and some pushes over a longer distance than typically. Streets ice free and thankfully not cold AF. Can absolutely get used to this again 🎉🏃‍♂️💨

  12. Still reeling from a significant ‘glutening’ in November has meant December has been another tough month. Recovery is a slow, slooow, sloooow process, but #running is a good distraction, and the daily boost of endorphins welcome.

Despite still feeling somewhere between ‘meh’ and ‘ugh,’ I’ve managed a new PB for distance in a single month 🤯 breaking the 150 miles mark for the first time.

    December looked like this:
    Distance: 243km (150.99 miles)
    Longest run: 11.84km (7.36 miles)
    Average run: 9.23km (5.74 miles)
    Average pace: 5:25/km (8:45/mile)
    Fastest km: 4:45/km (7:38/mile)
    VO₂ max: 50.0

  14. There have been some seriously tough kilometres this month — November threw plenty at me: sub-zero temperatures, snow, ice, #StormBert, and #StormConall. A run-in with gluten at the start of the month added to the challenge, with fatigue, nausea, headaches, joint pain and more (thanks, #CoeliacDisease).

At times this meant a gentler pace, a couple of extra rest days, and shorter distances when needed — but I kept going. And that’s the main secret to #running… just…keep…going!

    November looked like this:
    Distance: 229km (142 miles)
    Longest run: 11.72km (7.28 miles)
    Average run: 9.40km (5.84 miles)
    Average pace: 5:16/km (8:29/mile)
    Fastest km: 4:31/km (7:16/mile)
    VO₂ max: 50.0

  16. Suddenly, life has new meaning
    Suddenly, feeling is being
    And you shine inside
and love stills my mind like the sunrise
    Dreaming light of the sunrise
Suddenly, I don't have to be afraid
Suddenly, it all falls into place
