Online communities matter. I've always been a bit of a hermit in real life, but being part of online communities makes me feel more complete, even though I rarely meet anyone in person.
I use Zwift to run virtually when the weather is bad or I just don't feel like going outside. I rarely chat while running, but this time I ran with some pro athletes again, and the team leader wanted to send greetings to a buddy fighting cancer. I sent her some Finnish SISU.
Seeing those constant support messages appear right at the 10-minute mark (he asked us to send them all at once for a photo) got me emotional. Such a unique, sweaty run.

My January running challenge is now completed - 31 days of running behind me. The rule was simple: run at least 2 km every day, any style. I definitely didn't always feel like running. Many times I ended up doing my 2 km on the treadmill (Zwift). It was nice not having to think "should I run today", but rather "what kind of run should I do today?".
I decided to finish with a long trail run despite the freezing temperatures (approximately -16 °C, equivalent to 3.2 °F, got a bit colder during the run). My snacks and my body froze before we even reached the halfway point, but I still enjoyed it!
Length: 24.24km
Total distance In January: 163.1 km.
