  1. It's one of those days: while the kicksled has been successfully wrestled from the icy grip of the deck it's now freezing raining.
    I just can't win this one.... 🤷‍♀️

  2. A stretch in the evenings, and the snowdrops in their glory would put a bit of a spring in your step #stillwinter #kildare #Ireland

  3. Today is starting off at 31 F and ending at around 65 F! #ilwx #stillwinter

  4. Mal wieder ein kleiner Gruß zum #Fensterfreitag von mir. Nicht von heute aber von vor ein paar Wochen. 🎿

  5. I have a "home security" camera pointed at my feeders that alerts me when the squirrels are there (so I can give them more food and say hi). An added bonus is getting to review the motion capture video to see who visits while I'm sleeping. Last night, it was the Trash Twins for the first time since autumn.

  7. It looks like my area and quite a few others in BC are going to get a sudden severe cold period starting Monday and lasting at least a week. Now is the time to prepare for that. Since our snow has melted in most areas, there is no protection other than fallen leaves for plants. Extra coverage inside greenhouses. Make sure your livestock waterers are checked everyday. Don't take the wraps off your bees. Do what you can to insulate water pipes if you had problems during the last cold period. Check your firewood supply, make sure your chimney is in good shape especially if you've been burning wood that is not fully seasoned. Be prepared in case some unrelated thing interrupts your power. If you rely solely on electricity for heating and cooking, even a short power outage is misery in deeply cold temps, so have alternatives. Continue to practice situational awareness. Keep in eye on your neighbourhood and help where it's needed.
