This image is an example of what happens when a DC circuit breaker doesn't have the cable clamp screws tightened properly. The heating was so extreme that the screw has discoloured and the plastic housing of the breaker has charred. The cables were in no better condition.

I'm surrounded by idiots.
I'm going to try to have a word with the higher ups at the company that manages my apartment.
Maintenance came back while I was tutoring yesterday. The guy started asking me questions. I replied literally, "Talk amongst yourselves!" I was working. I did not have time to talk to maintenance. Consider that these guys will come to fix shit when no one is home. Who would you talk to then?
The guy yesterday decided to change the breakers in the breaker panel.
:why:
WTF? There's no evidence that there's a breaker issue. I told them that I flip the breakers **to power-cycle** the HVAC unit. This is it. I never mentioned any breaker tripping.
Two minutes after the guy was gone, the problem recurred.
:headache:
My problem is intermittent. The HVAC runs normally, until, for some inscrutable reason, the fan still runs, but the air is unconditioned. Power-cycling the unit is needed to fix the issue, until it happens again.
Yesterday was my fifth complaint about the issue.
