Dogwood on the Merced

The Merced flows strong and hard and throughout the valley the dogwoods blossom. Most of the dogwoods in Yosemite have a very nice white blossom, there are a few pink dogwoods near the housing units for the park service employees. The dogwoods along the river seem to bring the most attention as nature lovers and photographers will gather around them for the perfect angle.

This was taken from the swinging bridge that crosses the Merced River south of Yosemite Falls.
Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall measured in North America 2,425 feet tall. The upper portion of the falls, the Upper Falls as seen here has a drop of 1, 430 ft.

This is a capture of a Dogwood tree in Yosemite Valley.
Most people will travel up to Yosemite to capture the Dogwoods in the spring as the open up their big white blossoms, me included. Truth is I wasn't in Yosemite to shoot the dogwoods during this trip. I was just up camping to enjoy the nice warm calmness of fall.

The lone span of the Golden Gate Bridge emerges from dense, drifting fog, its red/orange steel cutting through the muted gray atmosphere. Tunnel View. This has to be my favorite view of nature in all the world. This is located on State Highway 41 and is one of the first views that most of the visitors to the park will see of Yosemite Valley.
Many who visit during the summer see a crystal clear view of the valley all the way back to Half Dome and Clouds rest. These are both obscured in this image.

Not far from downtown San Francisco up on Nob Hill sits this grand cathedral known as Grace Cathedral.

The beauty of the craftmanship that is on display in these buildings is amazing.
Construction on this building started in 1902 and completed in 1911. The building was constructed of Indiana limestone and granite from Colorado.
This beautiful building is located just a couple of blocks from the center of Denver.

The show last roughly 45 minutes to an hour. Towards the end of the show they regroup and fly a couple of passes together as a unit as they truly are a unit.

Sitting out by the Crowley Point overlook just outside of Death Valley waiting for the jets to come through certainly had me excited.
These are training runs and require much patience as they do not fly on a schedule. It sure gets the blood pumping when one of these jets start making their way through Rainbow Canyon, AKA Star Wars Canyon.

I captured this while I was out on an early weekend drive up into Napa Valley, way earlier than any tourist would arrive.
