Mag sein, dass es Menschen gibt, die nicht bei jedem Strandbesuch 12kg Kameraausrüstung mit sich herum schleppen, aber es gibt immer etwas zu fotografieren und auch wenn Möwen und Bachstelzen hierzulande wirklich nicht selten sind, so begeistern sie mich doch immer wieder auf´s Neue.

There was almost a seagull disaster today where I live when the bird spotted some food in a busy street and tried to land to carry it away. Fortunately, a driver stopped short and honked at it, scaring it away before it could be hurt.
This has not always been the case, and I've seen cruel drivers go straight for seagulls and pigeons so they could hit them. I still remember several years ago when some godawful person left a seagull dragging itself around in the street with a broken leg and shattered wing. It died before it could receive medical attention or at least be humanely put to sleep 🤬 🤬 🤬 A woman I worked with put it in a cardboard box, took it home, and buried it in a shady spot in her garden.
