After retrieving sheep (passim) on their way to greener fields we got out for the obligatory run. The dug will not settle down for the tip back norhth without it. A lovely 12k along the old fell road - a combination of the old dam construction road and the side of a quiet A6.
My brother was here on Thursday night and got soaked on his trip oot. I passed him this photo too and laughed.

Yesterday was the final day of my week in Cumbria, so I celebrated with a last ride in the hills. I think it'll be a while before I see quite so much green again.

Not far from where I am this week is Dove Cottage, in Grasmere - famously, home to the Wordsworths between 1799 and 1808. This is the interior of Dorothy's bedroom, which was entirely lined with contemporary newspapers, in the forlorn hope that they would act as insulation, and keep the room a bit warmer.

Infrastructure news. The government's Project Gigabit UK is coming to my road in Cumbria next month, as a new fast full-fibre network. It's aimed to fill gaps where commercial network providers can't see a profit.
