This short walk is over Hampsfell, above Grange-over-Sands in #Cumbria with a chance of whatever sea breezes there are in the heatwave. It visits unusual Hampsfell Hospice, built to provide shelter for travellers. Great views in clear weather. Letting sleeping dugs lie. Over in Cumbria visiting the OAPs for the weekly ‘do a job’ we have just comeback from our morning run. The kitchen is not large, but… And the collie insists on getting into the middle. The old ‘ever hot’ stove has been off for months! I get an appalled ‘wot me look’ if I ask him to move, so better leave him until parents get up. If he moves the old terrier will just get in his place.

Yesterday we went to Dufton, with the aim of walking the short stretch of the Pennine Way to High Cup Nick. Lunch at the Post Box Cafe and we set off.
Eve is still having physio, so it was always going to be about how far we could go without pain rather than pushing to the summit at all cost.
Did well to get to the edge here, about half a mile short. Next time all the way! Eve really enjoyed the walk and Dufton was worth a visit, lovely village. #PennineWay #Cumbria
