The Bleak Back o’ Skiddaw
It‘s been a wet and windy day in the Lakes, so naturally very little was accomplished. Instead, here is a photo from yesterday. The “back o’ Skiddaw” offers little to marvel at—a few sheepfolds dot an otherwise featureless landscape. Any rock that dares to stand out gets christened and turned into a boundary marker. Cumbria Wildlife Trust is very close to finalising an exciting purchase of land on the slopes of Skiddaw in the English Lake District. This will be their largest nature reserve, and it will be the highest (in altitude) in England.
This is a wonderful opportunity to restore lost montane habitats, ecosystems, and species on a landscape scale.

So, a trip to the Lakes for new year - challenging in poor conditions but done and glad we did it.
First one off the camera though and it's not looking like a bad trip so far but over a thousand shots to go through - it may take some time!
