Lunchtime run
It was a 2 litre run (water consumed between the dug and myself), a very warm 10k, mainly tracks with a little connecting road, and until we got back to Harestanes we did not see anyone - that almost made up for the ice cream shop not being open on a Monday 😭 Mainly flat with a stiff climb up to and then back from the Waterloo Memorial (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterloo_Monument)

Another glorious morning, a chilly start with the dew lying heavily ion the long grasses - so we all got wet feet. But boding well or the lunchtime tun - one with a little climbing and plenty of hydration or self and dug.
The poodle in the photo has lost her ball - which had to be retrieved by the Collie of course, the only reliable one with a Calvinist work ethic (although he likes some fun as well).

Evening run
On our third run of the day (including chasing after errant sheep this morning). Nothing special, 12.5k around and over the Mintos. But the sky made up for it and on our way we came across an old lad who on foot with his dug needs a walking frame. On his trike he tours the Borders. It is electric assist, but he still has to pedal. At his age (90+) I hope I will be as keen and able. 🥳👏👏

Coldingham Priory in the Scottish Borders. Work started on the priory in 1098. In 1430 it was partly burned down by its own prior, William Drax, in an attempt to conceal the theft of money in transit from Scotland to England. Morning walk. I suspect they suspect I might be getting balls out )not a chance in the long grasses). After a wet night (almost 3cm of rain), a dry morning — except for the grass of course.
The other two's owner has just had her hip done, so fingers crossed in a month or two's time, Chai and I will be starting the day with a run and they will be getting their morning walk from her.

Just in case anyone thought that Terries were completely uncultured, the RSA has a rather fine exhibition in Hawick. And for those who indulge in Park Runs, you can combine them both with what I think is a newer Park Run and passes by the museum (decent coffee and cakes in the park).

Virtually flying around Minto Golf Course, remembering some holes better than others from childhood! Usually played the bottom 8. I can't remember ever playing all 18. A neighbour had heard that colanders can be used to look at eclipses.
That’s a welding masking his hands.

- I didn’t waste time and money chasing sunglasses (that might not have been safe anyway given the fake markets)
- I sat in the garden with a nice glass of wine and Private Eye (decided not to head up to Ruberslaw)
- Total expenditure, £0.10 including my time, sticky back plastic, cardboard destined for recycling, a small strip of silver foil and a larger one of baking paper for my pinhole cameraCould have been worse.

The wasps who have made their house under the awning of the office are all calming down, not that they have been a nuisance. It is a lovely structure as well.

Morning walk
Another lovely morning at 6.30 and we will probably take a run up to the peak on the horizon to get a view of the partial eclipse this afternoon - with a pinhole camera ‘carefully’ constructed from cardboard, kitchen foil and a greaseproof paper screen.

Listening to last night's BBC4 Proms broadcast, to hear "March to the Scaffold" from the Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz. I played violin for this in the 1980s for the Borders Schools Orchestra. According to the British Newspaper Archive we performed music by Berlioz and others in Wilton Parish Church in October 1985. So 41 years ago.
