Over in Cumbria to do the weekly OAP (old aged parent) house and car maintenance thing (she is resistant to anything more frequent — must be us 🤣, although the puddings seem to get disposed of). So 18k mainly road and we almost made it back before the heavens opened.

Remarkable as though it might seem, even Border Collies do need a wee bit of training. In this case as a pup he began as a reluctant swimmer, so Síle had to demonstrate — with a real stick — in the burn that runs through the garden. He soon got the hang of it, and of course balls were an easy extension.

Morning walk.

Normal service resumed for a few days and a lovely day, although from a 6am start in the height of the summer we are now out at 7. But mission accomplished, three knackered bdugs, even if only temporarily. The collie will be out for a run later this morning, but I understand the poodle and the lab have their breakfast and got to bed for the rest of the morning.

Away overnight, so the morning walk with a neighbours hounds became an afternoon one. I was sorely tempted to just shut the gate, but it wouldbe no use, the Collie will just bounces over…. But they all needed a rest on the way back. And the collie is now flat out on the office floor.

Since this lovely and crazy child of mine is not doing well with the brace, she is scheduled for TPOL surgery.

After reading through the aftercare, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a hell of a trial (because she's CRAZY) but we're out of choices so let's see how many more ways she can ruin things. Things being her body, my body, etc.

I apologize for working on this instead of commissions but it's something I absolutely had to finally finish. 

The best group of friends I could ever ask for. They've always been there for me through thick and thin and I used to wander around the fandom alone and by myself. It's wonderful having folks I can hang out with and turn to whenever I need to get stuff off my chest.

Lunchtime run and animal encounters
First #trail #run for a couple of weeks. We are going to do the Pentlands ’Skyline’ (old route) tomorrow. All well if not fast alongside the Teviot and then back on the old railway. #Sheep have been moved onto the old railway, but they know Chai and just watched as we passed. On the way back we passed two Pointers who normally bark. The gate was open, what to do? Sensibly they moved behind the fence and a barking contest was held.

Afternoon run

28k, mainly roads with about 12k of trails. A warm afternoon, but a decent breeze kept us cool

And the dug had his WTF moment…. the field is closed as quail are nesting at the bottom

Now back and taking the terrible trio for their afternoon swim. I am knackered, the dug is not.
