  3. Carlisle railway station roof, 2025

  6. Another visit to the excellent #Tullie in #Carlisle today. It really is a credit to the city, and punches above its weight.

We took some time in the new ground floor permanent exhibit about the city itself, and spent longer than last time in the Roman Wall section, which uniquely among the places on the wall also connects the roman story with experiences of walls in recent conflict:s Northern Ireland, the USA, Germany, Israel/Palestine, Kashmir, etc.

Looking forward to the costume section reopening after renovation, and the mechanical automata temporary exhibition.

(If anyone comes to visit or walk #hadrianswall , I really recommended both downstairs at Tullie and The Roman Army museum near Greenhead for the context. It will really add to the experience itself).
