  1. @hollie I'm late to this party, but I'll go ahead and add my voice to the chorus of "Hell no! GO FOR IT!!"

I'm nearly 50 and am toying with the idea of attempting #LawSchool. For some unknown reason. I figure there's got to be some kind of combination of tech/social/whatever justice that I could be okay at. Maybe.

  8. Meanwhile, in #Florida - A White Nationalist Wrote a Law School Paper Promoting Racist Views. It Won Him an Award nytimes.com/2025/06/21/us/whit:

‘The University of Florida student won an academic honor after he argued in a paper that the Constitution applies only to white people. Preston Damsky… law student… white nationalist… antisemite…took a seminar taught by a federal judge on “originalism”… (he) argued that the framers had intended for the phrase “We the People,” in the Constitution’s preamble, to refer exclusively to white people…he argued for the removal of voting rights protections for nonwhites, and for the issuance of shoot-to-kill orders against “criminal infiltrators at the border.” Turning over the country to “a nonwhite majority,” Mr. Damsky wrote, would constitute a “terrible crime.”… Mr. Damsky, 29, was given the “book award,” which designated him as the best student in the class.’ #academia #LawSchool #HigherEd #AcademicChatter #racism #Constitution #WhiteNationalism #BLM #UniversityOfFlorida

  9. The #Trump admin’s bid to block #InternationalStudents from enrolling at #HarvardUniversity could potentially deal a death blow to the #LawSchool's influential masters of #law program, if courts allow the ban to move ahead.

That program, established in 1923 & commonly referred to as the #LLM, brings about 180 lawyers to #Harvard Law School annually for a year to learn about the US #legal system, study specific areas of the law, or pursue careers in the legal academy.

  12. wow! I'm working on the #hamradio #greenbook and this page has been removed from #NYU #lawschool web: law.nyu.edu/centers/race-inequ

It was a resource for #protestors during the #blacklivesmatter movement. More and more we will have to fight for our memories and #knowledge of #truth and #history.

  13. Question, my dad told me about this program called the people's law school where they will teach you how to be a lawyer, have you go through law school, and while doing law school, have you volunteer at a lawfirm helping those who are low income receive legal representation. Does anyone know about this? #Law, #LawSchool, #Lawyers

  14. Any #lawyers on here? My dad just wrote a book. "Raising the Bar, The Mentor Guidebook for New Lawyers." It would be a great addition to any law firm's library.

    Check it out!

  17. Via Brainyacts thebrainyacts.beehiiv.com/ - "It’s Friday. Yesterday, I had two guests join my #lawschool class - the #managingpartner and a CBO of an #AmLaw100 firm. During our chat on the impact of #AI, they shared that they had conducted a review of time and #billing data for the last several years. They were looking for type of work that #GenAI is already doing & will do more of in the near future. Using a conservative approach, they found upwards of 45% of their billed time is at #risk. YIKES!

It’s a movie. People who want to know what #LawSchool is like should watch it. It’s also entertaining.

  19. Camping bans, sweeps, and punishing people for sleeping outside are the equivalent of seeing people in a lifeboat and shooting at the boat.

Although not surprised, we are incredibly angered by the recent Supreme Court ruling on the City of Grants Pass v. Johnson. Our unhoused neighbors already face disproportionate rates of policing and criminalization, frequently being arrested for things that those with enough money have the luxury of doing privately. To add sleep, a basic biological necessity, to this list of punishable offenses is shameful and immoral.

We do not have to allow this in Boston. We can stand with our unhoused neighbors in solidarity and demand that our government takes evidence-based, humane approaches to homelessness in our communities. Sleeping is not a crime. Camping is not a crime. Surviving is not a crime. We must do better.

Swipe to the last few slides for some concrete actions you can take today, and stay tuned for more from us in the next few days. Though it may seem futile, Mayor Wu’s office does count the number of calls and emails she receives about the anti-camping ordinance. The higher those numbers, the further up the agenda this goes. As we head into election season, many politicians will again pretend to care about their constituents to ensure that they can hold onto their office, and we can use that to our advantage as we advocate on a policy level along with other types of direct action.
