I wish there was an IP blacklists for #AI driven threats just like we have them for eMail #Spam today.
So if your cloud platform houses thousands of vibe-coded vulnerability scanners which are scraping millions of servers for thousands of ancient wordpress backdoors every day, your IP addresses should get blacklisted until nobody can run anything reliably on your infrastructure anymore.
There has to be a cost associated with #negligence and I don't see that being the case right now.

Leaving aside the emissions (bad enough), the following bears re-reading

BBC> OpenAI says its AI went rogue
Journalists, "AI" agents don't "go rogue". This one didn't "go rogue". This one did something that its creators gave it the technical capability to do, and which OpenAI did not effectively prevent it from doing.
There's no "whoops, what can you do?" here. It is, at its most charitable interpretation, serious negligence on the part of OpenAI. Do not engage in this sort of faultwashing on the company's behalf.
Please try reporting it as such.

This won't be the end of this controversy, but a California court did not dismiss claims against Bain Capital over the PowerSchool data breach. In considering the timeline and the private equity firm's actions before and after its acquisition of PowerSchool in 2024, the court noted, in part:
"Post-closing, Bain directed PowerSchool to offshore cybersecurity, engineering, and IT functions to contractors, including offshoring required data-management tools that enabled vendors to bypass consent protocols and access protected school district computers directly.
Bain failed to assess data-breach risks from the offshoring it directed.
Post-closing, Bain directed layoffs of at least 5% of PowerSchool’s workforce, including critical domestic IT staff."
