  4. The #Trump admin moved Thursday to restrict the duration of #visas for #InternationalStudents, #exchange workers & #journalists.

    The new rule from ​#DHS creates a fixed time period for F visas for students, J visas that allow ‌visitors on #CulturalExchange programs to work in the US, & I visas for members of the #media. Those visas are currently available for the duration of the program or employment in the #US.

  9. Australia’s universities have been hooked on international student fees for years, especially from China. Now that pipeline is slowing — geopolitics, rising competition, and changing perceptions are all biting.
    At the same time, some employers in China are starting to question whether an overseas degree still carries the weight it once did. The old “halo effect” is fading. And for many students, the appeal has dropped further with no clear pathway to permanent residence after studying in Australia.
