Getting an item back from Beijing airport
I had a transit a Beijing Capital (PEK). I made the fatal mistake of leaving my ebook reader on the plane. At this point, getting it back seems impossible (short of going back for it in person). I tried quite a lot. I lost my item on the way there and on the way back I already asked the airport information desk if there's a lost-and-found and whether they found any item like mine on my flight's day. The adventures of Kobo and Rakuten points
I occasionally buy stuff off Rakuten. It's mostly just herbs, but gradually points do build up. I also have a Kobo Libra reader. Kobo is a subsidiary of Rakuten, so you can log in with a Rakuten account and all that "integration." The other day I noticed that finally the newest volume of No Game No Life came out, so I went to get it. That took unexpected effort. The payment process just kept failing with an extremely unhelpful "we can't complete this transaction" error.
