Have Malagasy people ever been presented a dark-skinned depiction of Jesus? Ever? Based only on the statuary I've seen around Antananarivo — sickly pinkish-yellow and bleeding — I'd guess that Jesus in Madagascar is still suffering from a colonial hangover.

The mezuzah is interesting. Only learned about that in watching #TheChosen. It's a nice reminder as people come and go.
I've kinda borrowed the idea. 🙃 I have a simple little wooden box laser-engraved with Adonai El Roi. I have yet to put verses that have extra personal meaning for me inside the box. Maybe I'll just put the shema -- I love that one too, especially when the kids all recited it in the first season.

It's been 8 months since I've watched The Chosen. I had focused all my attention on #TheGoodPlace, which is another show on my top 10 list of favorites. Now that I've watched The Good Place nearly six times, I'm back on The Chosen. XD
One thing that strikes me about the characterization of Jesus in this show is just how human and restrained He is... just how much He walked the earth as a normal, everyday human, and how all of his miracles were the product of His relationship with The Father, rather than a direct manifestation of his power and authority (dunamis and exousia).
