As I’m cooking, I’ll toss a pinch of salt over my left shoulder, especially if I spilled a little. I’ve done this forever and cannot remember how I even learned that behavior. Does anyone else do superstitious things like that and can’t remember how or where you learned it? #cooking #superstition

What am I proud of, huh? What about that whole pride going before a fall thing? I might not be full of faith, but I can make up for it in superstition. So if not what I’m proud of, then what do I talk about now?
The things I’m not proud of? No, too easy.
I’ve known some prideful and boastful people in my life and you know what? I don’t know that any of them were overly interesting people. Or caring and compassionate people. How can you be a caring person if all you talk about is yourself? I think we’re all somewhat guilty of talking about ourselves though. It’s natural, it’s what we know well, and it’s also a pretty safe topic if you’re not a great conversationalist, but at some point doesn’t the other person, the other half of the conversation sitting over there, become interested in something else?
Wouldn’t conversations be a lot simpler if we all had telepathy and could just read other’s thoughts instead of talking to them?
I found three old flash drives today and spent some time looking at stuff I had saved. I was surprised to find a folder filled with a bunch of things I’d written going back to 2010. There was a story I’d written about my grandfather who died when he was 78-years-old and that was sad. I also found a lot of poems I’d written and one of them was a poem I wrote on my birthday. I remember sharing it at the time in an online writing group and I remember everyone telling me – very nicely, all of them – how it didn’t make sense and it was confusing and other stuff I didn’t care to read. It made sense to me back then and it still made sense to me today but I can see why it failed. I’m thinking with some work I can maybe make it make sense to others? We’ll see.
I also found a bunch of pictures on one of the flash drives and that was pretty cool. I’ve really changed a lot in the last 16 years. I wonder what I’ll look like at 78?

2/2 What's particularly amusing is that Mahindra's superstition actually has a stronger statistical case than the rumored (by ET) Tata one: the first two "O" vehicles (Bolero and Scorpio) became iconic cash cows, so the company institutionalized the pattern. Of course, later launches like Quanto, Nuvo(Sport), and Marazzo proved that an "O" at the end cannot rescue a weak product proposition.
