I hate trying to learn things from videos.

Why can’t folk write comprehensive BOOKS about Unreal Engine 5.6?

Videos are either too slow and boring, or things suddenly appear on a blueprint or model and I’m wondering where the hell that came from. 😂

Yes, the video creators successfully achieve what they set out to do, but my brain cannot be taught that way. Autodidact. Give me a printed manual, turn me loose.

How many focused hours did it take you to get your first job?

I finally got my first offer for a Junior Dev position, which I snapped up. I'm completely self-taught when it comes to coding, but had dabbled on and off since middle school. I got serious about #webdev a couple years ago and because I keep pretty good track of my hourly learning/project time I can say it took me about 600 hours to get the offer, but maybe I was ready at 450 / 500? Please count hours in school too!

Limits exist for reasons though, and there's not a straight line from inputs to #semantic memory building.

Also, the #chatbots aren't responsible for creating more #information than we can consume, that comes from the digital revolution- computers, internet, etc.

So from that starting point (info overload), these #digital search assistants (DA) can help reduce search & reading time considerably, if used with careful consideration.

After receiving the filtered summary of relevant info (then converted to written notes), we can switch the frame of reference of our #DA to that of a tutor, asking for a series of questions in conversation style meant to illicit the correct answers from us rather than giving them directly.

I imagine their ability to ask questions from the POV of our teacher will be as great as their ability to answer our endless trivia questions, and much more beneficial.

Did a few project-based #fpga tutorials and I'm interested, but am not getting the mindset from them. Tried a few basic #circuit and got them working, but struggled with #verilog #syntax

I am interested in this same question! Decades before I learned the word #neurodivergent or began to think of myself as #ActuallyAutistic I was ACUTELY aware that my learning style was that of an #autodidact (despite not knowing that word either) -- more specifically, that I learned very differently from my peers. I got through college with hardly any interaction with professors, advisors or TAs. Today the narrow subjects that I feel I'm an "expert" in are entirely self taught.

I didn't do an #introduction! I'm not very good at this social media stuff. I've been under a nice mossy rock for quite a few years with no social media contact at all.
