Die Krise von Open Educational Resources (#OER) angesichts von generativer KI zeigt, dass es eigentlich immer um was anderes ging: die gemeinschaftliche Verantwortung für die Herstellung und Verbreitung von Wissensressourcen. Da drumherum entwickeln sich passende Methoden und Werkzeuge, wie eben u.a. der partizipative Prozess #BookSprint. GenAI kann ein Werkzeug sein, z.B. um den Glossar eines Lehrbuchs zu verbessern, aber den Prozess selbst kann es nicht ersetzen.

I realized I hadn't updated in several years my post https://mathematikoi.net/p0/index.html on the textbook pain multiplier. Still haven't, but at least I've made the new graphs, the basic one I attach here. It shows the crazy cost increases of textbooks in the US from 1980 to 2025 hit a bit of a wobble 2017-2024 due to #OER, I assume, but then jumped way up again recently.

Note some recent BLS data is missing, I guess from US federal govt chaos.

I'm trying to find a hub / directory / central for publishing e-learning courses.
I gave up, there is no more hub.moodle.org or anything similar.
What am I missing? Where do course developers publish (free) courses nowadays?
EPALE seems to be the only such platform, but it's clunky (as most EU related websites).

Just install the app from the app store https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/hfivep and upload and share your video with embedded questions, or a presentation, quiz or puzzle. You can build those with the desktop app Lumi. All #opensource !
