This obsession the mainstream tech media is having with the softlaunch of a general steamOS image is bizarre. There's nothing steamOS does that can't be achieved with a lot of other distros, Fedora, uBlue/bazzite and arch friends.

So apparently you can run #proxmox in a #rootless #podman container. Seems worth fiddling with. Dont know if storage clusters etc will work. Network config requires a bit more work.

Watching #lunduke meltdown because #hyfetch, a fork of #neofetch has #pride flag colour sets as an entirely optional thing and that many distros have included it in their repos.
Hey Brian, no one is making you choose a pride colour scheme, or even use hyfetch, #fastfetch is still there. Let people have their thing. Didn't this guy used to be a libertarian?

But if people want to play politics - they support #Fedora (and #bazzite which is built on #Fedora infrastructure) that it funded by #redhat and their head of Linux support Matt Hartley used to appear on podcasts with Brian #Lunduke! They also ship their laptops through China!
It's easy to go down these rabbit holes, but I do believe framework should address this properly

I loved and grew up watching reruns of #themuppetshow and thoroughly enjoyed the pilot special that's just come out on #disneyplus but if it gets picked up for more I hope they have some ideas to keep it interesting.
This special leaned very much on the old formula, which unless the guests are amazing might not interest a modern audience.

Was testing #old #gamingpc with #bazzite and a couple of games getting it ready to sell when it crashes.
Huh - power it back up and wont post. Stuff around with it for a bit. Suspect its not detecting the old gpu, put old gpu in the dock and now its not detecting it either.
I think my #radeon bit the dust to protest me buying an #intelarc

Any instance should choose whether or not to federate with threads
They should pay the hosting costs of any server they pull data from
not run ads against the content that comes from other instances
Any changes to the AP protocol needs to be pushed upstream. If upstream is not interested in the change, they need to respect that and stay in spec. We do not need another #Jabber #xmpp vs google thing going on

@kde a less experienced Linux user has just pointed out to me that there is no GUI in KDE for setting a system hostname? Or if there is we can't find it.
I've always just used hostnamectl, which is fine. But seems like an oversight!

I'm just going to say it - there are worse movies than The Electric State. I can see people's complaints with it, but it held my attention and was mildly entertaining. I feel like it got dog piled
It has no business costing as much to make as it did.
It's no worse than the minecraft movie and I actually paid for me and my kids to see that. The fact that one can be a success and the other panned, seems odd.

has anyone tried #krfb #2304 for desktop sharing on #plasma #wayland it was supposed to fix keyboard input.
I've just pulled in the update in #kinoite and it does indeed fix keyboard input, but it does not interface with the screensharing portal, you cant select a monitor to share. As a result #vnc client has a black screen.
last release worked sharing screen, but no keyboard. Wayland remote desktop on #KDE seems to be one but not the other!

Woken up by my kids before 5am watching movies in the lounge room. Checked #homeassistant logs and the TV has already been on for almost an hour! So I just went and made an #automation that will turn the TV off it sees a turn on event before 6am.

teachers are useless and helpless. They have no interest in helping themselves.
If you package everything they need as one button setups in the company portal, they'll still open a job for one my helpdesk guys to come press that button.

On the current #fedora #kde #plasma 6.4.3 if I disconnect my monitors that are connected over usb-c with the current #firefox beta flatpak running, kwin_wayland core dumps. Reproducible on 2 different machines, one with a HP dock, the other with a usb-c to DP adapter.
Other GTK apps or even other builds of firefox don't trigger it. Disconnecting the DP cable from the adapter does not trigger it.
I'm not even sure who to report that to

People trying or coming back to #Fedora with the release of #f40, if you find issues with the system or packages in the repos, Don't just whinge on social media, log bugs. Some will be known issues, some might not. It's an important step to making shit better, even if you don't know how to categorise it. The people are nice and usually help triage.

I restored Discover to my Bazzite install using a Systemd-Sysext. Essentially a sub disk image that is loaded during boot of the immutable system, that way you dont have to layer all the plasma components this would usually require!
Neat! No shade to the #bazaar devs

I don't understand the excitement for #bazaar the new #flatpak frontend created for #bazzite and #UniversalBlue.
It doesn't seem to do anything better than #kdediscover and looks extremely out of place on #plasma.
