Vor gut 2,5 Monaten hatte ich ja mal Correctiv angeschrieben weil Sie keine Repräsentanz im Fediverse mehr haben. Eine Antwort habe ich nie bekommen. Ins Fediverse zurückgekehrt ist Correctiv aber auch nicht (zumindest nicht wirklich siehe unten).

Leider habe ich damals den Footer mit den Social Media Links nicht abfotografiert (und finde Ihn auch nicht in der Wayback Machine). Was mir aber auffällt: Bluesky ist wird nicht mehr aufgeführt, obwohl der Account noch bespielt wird.

Was aber wohl dazu gekommen ist ist Threads und WSocial.

Okay Threads spricht Activity Pub die meisten hier werden aber keinen Bock haben sich mit den Meta Servern zu verbinden. Aber da könnte die Strategie von Correctiv sein im Fediverse irgendwie vorhanden zu sein.

Aber das man zu WSocial.eu geht und seinen Content da ablädt. WSocial, die Geisterstadt der alternativen Social Media Landschaft wie @pallenberg es so schön recherchiert hat.

Ich finde die Situation auf jeden Fall extrem unbefriedigend und weis echt nicht warum das Fediverse von Correctiv einfach so links liegen gelassen wird. Wenn man mit WSocial wieder etwas neue bespielt kann es an mangelnden Personal Kapazitäten ja nicht liegen.

I don't understand the disdain for federating with Threads. I don't think our connection would support Meta in anyway. If anything, it highlights the power of decentralized platforms. It would also be an olive branch to people trying to leave Meta, as they would still be able to follow people who utilize Threads. Am I missing something? I reserve a special kind of revulsion for peep who fled #Twitter because of #ElonMusk, and then:

- found a welcoming home on #Mastodon,

- gathered a following here,

- saw launches of #bluesky, #threads

- decided to chase eyeballs there

- justified bluesky as "All my sources are here"

- bridged their corporate-controlled account to Mastodon

- THEN decided to stop posting/engaging directly on Mastodon because it was "too much work"

- THEN CONTINUE to exploit us only as passive eyeballs 🤮

If you know of anyone, or if you yourself are the owner of a #facebook, #instagram, #threads, or even a #whatsapp account... I would like for you to read this and pass it to anyone you care about. Even if someone isn't actively posting, they are culpable to #meta staying in business. Meta is paying #nazis (literal fucking neo-Nazis), in an invite only "Content Monetization" program to increase engagement on the platform.

Почти смирился, что #Threads на Android много кушает АКБ и VPN надо (было) запускать для него, но меня сперва приняли за иранского бота, а потом забанили (больно мне там понравились их истории). После пришедшего СМС-кода (запрашивал, как написано в мануале по реге для #Signal Messenger), попросили прислать селфи, а я им прислал точно такой же домик, что был на аватарке…🙂 Ну на Плей Маркете в отзывах писали, что и реальные фото помогали не всем: мож они там в #EXIF что-то ищут?)
