  1. Don't you just love #dnf casually offering you to remove kernel without proper continuation? #KDEDiscover seems fine with it, too. #Fedora

#KDEDiscover is an epitome of life itself. It SHALL NOT provide you more information.

  7. I restored Discover to my Bazzite install using a Systemd-Sysext. Essentially a sub disk image that is loaded during boot of the immutable system, that way you dont have to layer all the plasma components this would usually require!

Neat! No shade to the devs

If people want instructions I guess I can write something up over the weekend

  8. I don't understand the excitement for the new frontend created for and .

It doesn't seem to do anything better than and looks extremely out of place on .

    I'm kind of confused

  9. The most annoying thing about these apps (#Vivaldi, but also #Tokodon, and who knows how many else), at least as installed from #KDEDiscover is that —I don't know if because of Flatpak or whatever— they complain about not having access to a vault or password manager or something like that (sorry, don't remember the exact phrasing and I'm in desktop mode now). This might be a limitation of the #SteamDeck gaming mode though, for all I know.

For what it's worth, I have now filed a feature suggestion in the "Warehouse" #flatpak management app regarding the ability to manage extra languages for spellchecking & dictionaries, for those who use Warehouse as their primary tool: github.com/flattool/warehouse/

I still think it would make sense to also have this in #GNOMESoftware and #KDEDiscover for the majority of people who use those.

  11. Ok, the laptop is finally up and running again. But what a journey!

I'm still not hundred percent sure what happened, but my guess is that #kdediscover (with integrated support for #lvfs) initiated a #bios update without me noticing the day before. And as I was in a hurry and distracted, I accidentally hard-reset the machine during the update that ran on the next boot and therefore corrupting the flash content.

I guess I will disable LVFS as update source in Discover for now...
