  1. I felt I wanted a change on my secondary computer (a mini PC I use for gaming) from my valve VGUI/AmigaOS combo theme, and felt like going for a Windows 7 look. Why 7 in particular? Just because I missed Aero with it's frosted glass-like transparency around the windows/taskbar and the 3D-ish close/minimise/maximise buttons of old. I'm pretty please this kitbash of several Win7-inspired theme assets looks - stars I missed Windows Aero! :apartyblobcat:

  4. I’ve spent some time this weekend reinstalling my desktop with #CachyOS. Previously it used #bazzite, as it was mostly used for gaming, but I was also using it to run some heavier game servers and doing all of that in #distrobox was getting annoying. So far it’s been a nice experience, and I’m enjoying being able to mess stuff up again :blobmiou:

  5. So I guess I have to finally actually do something about #Bazzite being on my computer. Which is too bad; It's worked really well.

Now I just need to figure out where to go from here. #PikaOS is a good option. Solid tooling, Debian Unstable base rolling, and a fun, kinda goofy but very helpful community.

#CachyOS is also nice, and the btrfs snapsots integrated into the system out of the box are even nicer. I'm super comfortable on Arch, but setting it up for gaming from scratch is more trouble than I wanna put in, so Cachy is a solid option.

Let's see, what else... Hardware support isn't an issue (carefully selected, AMD, etc.), so I guess anything. I need good gaming support, not based on #Fedora or #Ubuntu, and obviously #Windows can go fuck itself. #Mint is awesome but not in the cards (I bounce off of Cinnamon, sadly).

    Any suggestions?

There are very few commercial products that are open source. And I want to make the argument that opening your source code is not enough to be a "free" platform. In order to be a "free" platform, there must be a way for your users to

  11. Ugh trying to get #VSCodium to have a functioning integrated shell on #Bazzite without doing stuff to ostree seems impossible.

Maybe immutable #Linux isn't good for me.

Is there a #Gentoo based distro where Steam works as seamlessly?

Habe gestern #Subnautica 2 gespielt und es hat mir großen Spaß gemacht. Dann erstmal ein schönes Wochenende. #bazzitelinux #subnautica2
