Bonus: on a Fedora host registered with subscription-manager, RHEL entitlements propagate into UBI containers automatically via Podman's default mounts.conf. No flags, no manual bind mounts.
Especially good on Atomic spins.

#Linux for Multi-Linux Mgr formerly known as #suse - manager drives me mad with the #podman ( #docker) migration process .Migrating my Suma4.3 with half a Terrabyte database and all multi mio repository packages to be transformed between 2 servers (old,4 to 5, new). The ssl #certs that should be overtaken from the suma4 can never work because 2 new DNS attribute entries are needed to build the distinct docker network (DB, reportDB). Suse recommends to create temporary self signed certs. ( WTF?)🥴

I wondered about #rootless containers (#Podman / #Docker and found explanations how this uses user namespaces, but I was missing explanation of interactions with other namespaces (you need root to create namespaces, to do that rootless?).
I then found https://rootless.vagmi.ca implementing rootless containers from scratch and explains it very well. The user_namespaces manpage is also good to read and fills in some missing bits: https://man.archlinux.org/man/user_namespaces.7.en

I run an internal #pixelfed server for students at the school I work at. It is only used for 1 school term a year. I was hoping to move it to a container, instead of a whole VM. Looking at the official docs there doesnt seem to be an official container?
I see a fork called #pixelfedglitch - has anyone used this? Is it trustworthy? It seems to maintain regular container builds
