I will probably read the novel some day. Scifi is virtually always better in written form; there's just so much you have to leave out to fit a story into a 2-hour movie. I think that's why many of the best scifi movies are based on short stories or perhaps novellas, rather than full-length novels.
On the subject of nitpicking: if the spaceship has magical engines to get it to near lightspeed, why would the crew have to travel in suspended animation/induced coma state? Time dilation would mean the trip was subjectively short, maybe just days or even hours, for everyone on board. Obviously I haven't seen it yet, so maybe that's addressed.

I appreciate that this series, Into the Night, has actors of different nationalities speak their native language where/when it makes sense for the characters they portray, but it bugs me that they use Dutch and Flemish randomly as descriptors in the subs. While technically it's correct to say [speaks Dutch] when the Belgian is speaking Flemish, I've also spotted them use [speaks Flemish] when the Dutch guy is talking plain Dutch.

Taking a break to watch The Rings of Power. Watching mithril get melted down in a crucible and am surprised it takes such a low heat to do so. Those are yellow flames, and not all that hot. A propane torch is hotter than that. Must be magic fire.
(I used to study goldsmithing and silversmithing a couple decades ago.)

Rewatching #LOTR (Two Towers, specifically) and one thing that annoys me is Aragorn's comment about the Rohirrim at Helm's Deep: "Farmers, Farriers, these are not soldiers".
Well newsflash, Peter Jackson, welcome to medieval society. The only "soldiers" out there were mercenaries and the nobles. Otherwise it was indeed your farmers that did the fighting.
