#60JahreStarTrek und #Tele5 stand vor einer Wahl: für den mehrtägigen Marathon musste #StarTrek Material her.
Material das A, nicht schon auf und ab gespielt wurde und B, noch einigermaßen aktuell ist. Also hatte man die Wahl zwischen #Picard #StrangeNewWorlds und #Discovery. "Strange New Worlds" legte man auf das Wochenende, "Picard" bekam den Dienstag, Mittwoch & Donnerstag. Und "Discovery"? Discovery bekam das was es verdient und findet im Zuge der Feierlichkeiten kaum statt. Einen "Star Trek Short Trek" mit Ensign Tilli gabs, & einen mit Saru, sonst nix.Mit Recht.
Ich feiere die Entscheidung 😄 -

#StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds macht das selbe wie #StarFleetAcademy damals. Haut ne Folge gratis auf #Youtube raus. Ich weiß jetzt nicht ob das ein verzweifelter Versuch von #Paramount ist wenigstens ein paar Views für die Serie zu bekommen oder ob getestet werden soll wie die Stimmung so ist und ob es noch genug Neugier für was neues gibt.
So oder so, die Qualität hat stark nachgelassen. Die aktuelle Folge ist schon die 2. in der Staffel mit einem Timer in die Fresse. 😩 -

Literally as it began, the credits began rolling for Season 4, episode 8 of Star Trek Strange New Worlds, which I began streaming an hour and two minutes ago, aiming to time its ending with Sunset.
The last 45 seconds of the episode brought me to tears.
No SPoilers.
But it may well bring you to tears as well.

🖖🖖🖖🖖 four out of five vulcan salutes.
That was one proper episode. It just worked. It had some proper nods to previous episodes. The storytelling was believable. The characters progressed.
It was nothing incredibly new. But also, not exactly the same-old we already had. It was a very well-tailored episode. And given the current season, that's really nice for a change.

A "wtf is Jim Kirk doing on the Enterprise again?" Episode is unexpectedly probably the best episode of the season so far and proves #StrangeNewWorlds can still make a gimmick free episode when it wants to. Did a good job moving some pieces into place for TOS at the same time.
This should have been placed earlier in the season to break up the genre swings

In TOS: What are Little Girls Made Of? Roger Korby goes to Exo III and discovers technology of a long-gone civilization. The remaining synthezoid there, Ruk, refers to them as “The Old Ones”. Lanthanites? Catspaw also makes a reference to them.
Pelia, a Lanthanite, is an engineer and has a huge collection of ancient world artifacts just like Flint in TOS.
