Re-watching #StarTrek #DS9 gives rise to a feeling of *so many* filler episodes in between the really good ones that it can’t quite seem to hold my interest. Increasingly, it drifts into the background and I find myself doing other things until I eventually turn it off. So much of 90s Trek is kind of silly when watched today. It’s clearly a product of its time.
By contrast, what #StrangeNewWorlds does is inject more chaotic fun into the equation. I wonder how that’ll hold up with time.

“Spock’s Brain” held the record for being the worst episode of #StarTrek of all time for 60 years. Now, pick any recent episode of #StrangeNewWorlds and we have a new winner. They write SNW for absurdity and comedy so much (especially Spock) it’s like someone said “Hey, let’s get Seth Rogen high and have him write season 4!”
Now I’m wistfully looking back at the halcyon days of #Trek when they actually hired science-fiction writers to write the show. #StarTrekSNW

Nachdem ich jetzt in der Mitte der zweiten Staffel von Star Trek #StrangeNewWorlds angkommen bin, ist meine Meinung:
DAS ist mal wieder richtig geiles Star Trek!
Abwechslungsreich und komplex wie TNG, spannend, optisch ein Genuss, gute Figuren und eine Prise Humor.

I think some of the points brought up in the first part of this video more or less sums up my views on Strange New Worlds season 4. Individually, out of context, I liked most of the episodes, but having the vast majority of the season as "gimmicks" wasn't a good idea IMHO, and makes for a disjointed, directionless season. I doubt I'd like TNG as much if it was mostly things like Qpid.
Being episodic is fine with me, TNG is my favourite and that's episodic, but season four felt more to me like an anthology series or something?
