"Your 'fun meal,' Master Sergeant," the waiter said, depositing a small sack on David's table.
There were quiet chuckles from all around, but when David looked up, everyone maintained solemn expressions — except for a woman wearing a leather jacket at the bar who winked. She joined him at the table.
"I should have known it would be you, Captain," he said.
"It's simply #smashing to see you!"
He bit into the sandwich.
"What? I thought you hated those!"
"You get used to them," David said. -

Republican senator refuses to discuss new footage of MAGA rioters smashing up his office
New footage shows insurrectionists on January 6 destroying the office of Sen. #Jim #Risch (R-ID).
However, the conservative Republican has nothing to say about it when pressed by reporters, as NBC News revealed on Thursday
"Video shows a #rioter — who has pleaded guilty to driving a #stun #gun into a police officer's neck, nearly killing him — #smashing out Risch's window overlooking the Washington Monument and the national mall in an attempt to let more rioters into the building," reported Ryan J. Reilly and Sahil Kapur.
"Additional video released this week shows Risch's #trashed #desk, including what looks like a framed campaign image bearing his last name."
That rioter, #Daniel #Rodriguez, boasted openly to his friends that he "#Tazzzzed the f**k out of the blue" and now faces a likely sentence of 7-10 years in prison.
But Risch, who represents a state where Trump remains highly popular, didn't want to comment on the matter

Sadly, so do our #governments. All of them. In fact there are no checks and controls on #slaughterers. They work alone in the dark with no supervision ever.
#Kangaroos killed for human consumption and pet food are shot in the bush and can be #unrefrigerated from 4pm one day until 7am the next. Temperatures at night can stay at over 30 degrees Celsius.
The #shooters start their nights buying a case of beer. They drink all night and drive around paddocks, then to a processing plant, up to 150km away in our area, along highways used by #human #families.
At foot joeys that escape are left to starve to death. In pouch joeys are killed as described above.
Single #shot kills are rare. An animal that hasn't been killed by a single shot is often #butchered in the field, still alive.. The joeys can hear that happening. A single shot is what is required under the code of #practice governing their behaviour.
