Today we bury
the last wordsmith
in captivity
who wrote
in an archaic format
formerly known as poetryWe perform this somber #elegy
in the shadows of anonymity
for as you all know
freestyle writing
(in fact freestyle anything)
was banned long ago
by those beasts now in control
who fear the power of creativity
more than terrorists with gunsSo truth me told

this burial ceremony
is really a requiem for us
trapped in a stagnant society
that has gone flat line -
I've often lamented
that I as an older gent
can't love
or even lust anymore
over busty young vixens
who sashay my way
without being
labeled
a "dirty old man" pervFor here I am
in the fourth quarter of my life
and I still secretly fantasize
like all guys doOnly now the girls
are young enough
to be my daughterEEEWWWW...
A totally unacceptable
violation of calendar rulesBut I just can’t help it

when presented visually

but of course if I get busted
giving the old side eye

Strolling through the fields of envy
I take myself and my gray reality
toward a better perception
in the fast approaching horizon..Hopped over the fence..
Landed on my feet
on the other side
where the grass
was allegedly greener..Stepped on the #taipan
in residence there..It bit me so deep in my naivety
all my best cliches bled out
leaving behind an ugly scar
of painful disillusionment..The truth is never as good as we dream

It's true, he doesn't judge others, as long as they think, and act as righteous as him. As long as they do it for the right cause, the means don't matter much.

I thought it sad, when my recollections of you began to #vanish. We are family, after all, both still alive, and I love you.
When it came, I took the chance to refresh my memory.
Good that I did. Now I remember why I need to stay away.

There was a time when I #bleached a strand of my hair so it would take on better the blue dye. It looked wild, and also matched my eyes.
Now, I'm all natural. No make-up, no hair dye.
But that wild blue still mirrors in my eyes. -
My inner landscape is a #riparian habitat, where feelings nourish and emotion gives direction. Like the tides are connected to the moon, my heart connects me with love. Sometimes the water washes over the banks, leaving ripples of you in the sand.
