CW: CW - Talk of eyeballs and horror, #STSNW and #AlienEarth
So, I'm not squeamish when it comes to most gore in TV and movies (and when it's gratuitous, I can't take it seriously. The famous scene from #Phantasm comes to mind -- too much blood is ridiculous). Anyhow, my Achilles' heel is eyeballs. It stemmed from watching "X - The Man With the X-Ray Eyes" at too young an age. Anyhow, both I could do without the eyeball poking and runaway eyeballs I've been seeing on TV. Ugh! Nightmare fuel for me. And I'm watching SciFi, not horror (well, Alien Earth is both).

During the past weekends, I re-watched Phantasm 1 - 4, and then, much to my delight, discovered there is even a fifth one, which I watched last Friday!
Dang, these are *so* good! (Especially the first one, but I liked all the sequels as well)
Everything about them seems so specific, without too much explanation.
They effortlessly create a dreamlike atmosphere that completely drew me in.

Well this is certainly not something I hoped to see anytime soon. Apparently Reggie Bannister, from the classic #Phantasm franchise, has declined in health entered hospice care.
I still need to watch Phantasm V. I love the first four films so much but I never watched part V. I was hesitant due to It being the sole film in the franchise not directed by Don cascarelli.
Perhaps it's time I give it a watch...

I probably did this a disservice by not revisiting the previous films, but this was just OK. Neat to see everyone back, but would have liked a more cohesive finale. #MovieReview #Phantasm
